Ecco Owners Please help

Guys,

I have a question. I bought some Ecco Classic Hydromax shoes. I love the fit but the problem I am having is that the sole feels very firm. Is this due to the leather insole? Will this soften over time or will it stay that way. The reason I ask is that it is a bit uncomfortable under the toes and forefoot. I would really like to keep these but I am thinking they might be going back. Thanks for any help. Here is the shoe I got

I own a pair of Ecco dress/casual shoes and I think I have a similar problem. When I first got them they were awesome and by far the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever owened, but after about a month or so my right foot started really hurting. Now if I wear them for a full day right at the ball of my right foot to the middle part of my foot behind the my toes aches really bad. It almost feel like there is a lump or something there, but when I examine the shoe I can't find anything wrong with them. I only wear them every once in awhile now.

I've got 3 pairs and haven't had a single problem. Much better that any FJ I've had. They fit prefect, they are water proof beyond belief and look great. I don't care for any of the crazy designs though.

For the past 10 years, I have exclusively purchased FJ shoes. Why? Because they fit my foot. Regardless of my experience with FJ, I would never suggest them. Everyone's foot is different and every shoe is designed different. If your feet hurt, you have the wrong shoes. Do some homework and find out which companies design characterestics that build for your type of feet. When you find the right brand, stick with them.

In time your feet will probably mold itself to the insole. I have a couple pairs of Ecco GTX's and I've never had a problem with the insole being too firm or not being comfortable even when brand new. They're the most comfortable golf shoes I've ever owned.

they could soften slightly over time, and will most likely mold to the shape of your foot a little, but the innersole won't become dramatically less firm, however. if they give you serious pain now, I'd send them back. You mention that the pain is under the toes and forefoot. That might be more an issue with width. If that's the case, you can expect some improvement over time as they will stretch from side to side a bit. I have a short wide foot, and also find Ecco's a little narrow at first.

My biggest complaint with the leather innersoles is when I play on hilly courses, I find I slide inside the shoe when on sidehill lies. maybe it's worth experimenting with an alernative innersole.

Otherwise, I think Ecco make a terrific shoe.
