First round in the books with the L series shafts. All I can say is…I’m in love. Overall an extremely stout shaft but with feel. After trying PX 6.5, Px 7.0, DG X7 and MMT 125TX over the last year, I can say with 100% confidence these are the best shafts I’ve gamed. Iron dispersion was tighter, peak height was lower and spin was still right where I wanted it. If anyone is on the fence, you have to get them in your hands.

Really hoping fujikura will bring out something similar in the near future, ideally slightly cheaper as well

Wouldn't hold your breath. They're expensive to make/R&D, probably not enough profit for them to come in at a cheaper price point.

Fujikura makes a ventus hybrid shaft that is popular in driving irons, so a dedicated iron shaft can't be that different design and production wise. The ventus name is the hottest in the shaft market now, so there ought to be some pull there for those that consider switching to graphite. We know graphite is the future in terms of iron shafts, so hopefully the volumes they would eventually be able to sell might make at least a 90-100 price tag possible for early adaptors. The hybrid shaft is 200 bucks or slightly under, but with iron shafts they know people wouldn't buy just one, so price could be lower. The MMTs are at around 75 bucks right now, which is something fuji would have to compete with since mitsubishi is the other big dealer in graphite. LAGOLF is way more niche.

Ventus iron shafts are the default graphite option for Taylormade stealth irons.  I doubt they are actual velo-core Ventus shafts, but they are there.

I had a ventus black velocore in my 3wood at one point, decent shaft. If Fuji made velocore iron shafts they would be priced in the same ballpark as LAGP. They hybrid velocore retails for $200, LAGP hybrid is $170. Fuji would probably be priced even higher than LAGP.

True but it is a graphite iron shaft they produce.  I wonder if it is an existing model with a different paint job.  Maybe @Fujikura Golf could provide more insight.

@doc52 did you compare the WV vs the normal wedge shaft.  Despite the WV being softer was there any other noticeable difference?

Are the LA Golf iron shafts a composite shaft or are they 100% graphite? And do they offer something in the 105g range that is comparable to the DG 105 X100? I’ve tried the whole MMT lineup and didn’t care for the feel.

that would be the A-series 105x but they are only offered in 0.370 tip, can be sanded down though

Perfect. And these are the same as the AXS Blu, right? And can you tell me if these are composite like an MMT or Steelfiber or if they are 100% graphite?

Update on my set:

Played about 3 rounds a week the last 5 weeks and about 2 range sessions a week. Have the LAGP L-Series 4 (Stiff) in my 58,54,50 and P-4 iron.

Coming from Oban CT-115 stiff shafts, these feel much more stable (the best way I can put it).  The LAGP has helped with the left miss some. Surprisingly I have no issue getting this shaft to launch the ball, even in the long irons. 4 Iron has been an issue for me over the last year or so and this has gotten me confident with it again. My spin has slightly increased, and my ball speed has slightly increased. I'm sure the ball speed has more to do with confidence and the profile fitting me a bit better, so I find the middle of the face more as well. These do feel maybe a bit stiffer, but that is my subjective take on it, not sure if there are numbers to back that up.

Overall, I am extremely happy with these shafts and love using them. There are a few things to note if looking to purchase;

• These seem to have a lot of weight in the butt. Not sure if they are really advertised as counter balanced, but it will be a factor in swing weighting.

• The butt of the club and tape under the grip is a larger diameter. I had to change from Standard MCC +4 to Standard MCC and add 1 wrap under the low hand.

• Tip weights may be hard to use. The ID of these at the tip end is very small. Anyone know of a tip weight that would fit? I'm using PXG Gen 5 so I don't have an issue as I just change the head weights. I'd like to put a set into some T100S heads but am afraid I wont get the SW where I'd like.

Really loving these so far, and gotta say, they look awesome! I prefer the look over the Mitsubishi MMT gloss.

really want to pull the trigger on these to put in my t100s heads but the swingweight issue is leaning me towards the mmt105tx  instead (which svingweight heavy with no tipweights but ill play them 0.25-0.5 inch short so will work out great). golf is tricky  when being 5ft6 tall and having a wingspan closer to 6ft1 hehe

So regarding the two big callouts with these shafts:

1) How much lighter do they swingweight at the same length compared to a “standard” shaft like a DG?

2) How much larger does the grip size end up being due to the larger butts? Are we talking it takes a standard grip up to a midsize?

Thanks for sharing! Yes, I will say the overall club weight is good, but you're looking at c9-d1 most likely without tip weights.

 1) I was seeing about 2-3 SW points lighter. But again, overall system weight was nearly the same.

2) Yes, the lower hand felt closer to midsize to me and my hand couldn't get quite comfortable. Oddly enough it didn't seem to be much of an issue for me towards the top, mostly just for my lower hand while using the Plus 4 style grip.

Havent found the cpm rating, la sucks at sharing technical info about their products. sydney golf tech has a video where he uses calipers on the a series and it meassures out to 0.666 butt diameter after being cut to length, i believe the L series is the same.

Yeah, noticed that 0.666" value above but was not sure if it was for the L series.

Based upon that I will use standard grips instead of my normal mcc align +4 midsize, and use extra tape if necessary.

I have used the TRONO 65X and 75X shafts, and liked them due to the stable feel.  Seems these might be similar and plan on the "5" as I prefer very firm iron shafts.

Has anyone compared these to Nippon 115X?

Undecided weather to go the 4's or the 5's flex... Also they seem to be heavy in the tip section. Do they require counter balancing?
