2022 bushnell golf rangefinders?

Has anyone peered through the optics of both the XE and the Coolshot Pro II Stabilizer?  I have the Coolshot but not XE. Coolshot has incredible optics.

The optics for the Bushnell Pro XE should be better because it has a 7X magnification power while the Coolshot Pro II has a 6X magnification.

That makes it better? Most RF’s are 6x. And from other RF’s that have 6x the Coolshot is much better. At least the several I have looked through.

What's the difference between the Pro XE and the Pro X3? The ability to set home course elevation is all I can tell but I'm probably missing something.

Been trying to find more info on this too.  Possibly improved elements feature (pretty vague) and maybe wind.  Not sure if it requires Bluetooth connectivity to your phone, and maybe required Bushnell phone app for that data?

Other than that seems about the same (3 years later)

Dual display, I actually prefer black over the vivid red most of the time...

For it being released 3.5 years later, it's an underwhelming upgrade but at the same time, I understand that the Pro XE is as good as it gets and there are only so many things Bushnell can improve upon. Here are the differences that I could find:

  • 600+ yard range to flag, apparently the 500 yard range on the XE wasn't good enough lol
  • Dual display, which allows you to change the display from black to red depending on your preference. Gimmicky IMO, I've never had a situation with the Pro XE where the red display wasn't suitable, but having the option for both is nice
  • Bushnell app connectivity: The reason I purchased a laser rangefinder was so I didn't have to use an app, the hole overviews are a nice touch if you're playing a new course I guess.
  • Home course elevation preference:  The pro XE takes barometric pressure into account with slope, which negates the need to set an elevation in the first place, so this feature seems like a step back to me.
  • Aesthetically the unit looks cleaner and more refined IMO.

Yep. If I had an XE I wouldn’t be interested. They needed something major like stabilizing

Similar in terms of tech. The z82 and SL2 are pretty cool.

Bushnell stopped producing their hybrid rangefinder and I was hoping they would come out with something that had more tech.

I have a mediocre RF. Debating on getting a premiere RF. X3 certainly in that group

The slope switch my XE has always been "loose". I love the idea behind the new slope switch/lock.  Feature wise it doesn't look much different but the eyepiece also looks better as my XE never looked like a tight seal.  My X3 is supposed to deliver today!

Nice!  Let us know what your opinion is?  Does the new slope switch lock in place?  I am wondering if it slides out of place easily. Are the optics better?  Is it better overall than your XE? If so, how?  Sorry I have so many questions. Very expensive.

Look what showed up today 😎. I'll take better pics when I get home and will give a review this weekend after taking her out.

To quickly answer the question about the locking mechanism, there is a spring loaded tab that holds the sliding feature to turn the slope on and off. I attached a pic of it.

Wow that’s a beauty! Did they change the case or same case as xe?

I had to google the one that came with the XE, my old 1m came with a crap pleather sleeve. I had to back then buy the fanny pack system they sold individually.

The one included with the X3 looks to be the same.

New switch slope mechanism is very simple and should stay in your desired position.  I wouldn't worry about durability unless you're fiddling with it a lot.  Case looks to be the same as recent X3.  I bought an X3 early and it had the stretchy sided case.

Optics are about the same I would say.  There's not a ton of new functionality but if you're choosing between the XE and X3 it's an easy choice.

I like gadgets and the loose switch on mine always bothered me so easy upgrade choice for me.

It's really easy to set the home altitude as well.

Got to test it a little more tonight.  It definitely picks up the target/jolt quicker than the XE.  A lot of nice little upgrades that add up into an improved unit.  Probably not worth it at retail or if you already have a high end laser but a great, top of the line golf gadget.

Hey. Curious if you got your X3 out on the course.  Looking forward to X3 owners opinions. An RF will be on my Christmas list.

I'm in my second year with the Pro XE and just love it. Old range finder was a Nikon, which was lighter, but not nearly as fast.

First half hearted review since I only used the X3 in that capacity in my 5 hour (UGH =( ) Sunday round.

I upgraded from my old Pro 1M and even though I am an a junkie for any and everything golf, I would say that I would most likely be more sensible if it came to the latest and greatest for a range finder, basically, use it till the lens fall off! In my case that was almost true, after being away from the game for nearly 7-8 years, I started playing religiously again thanks in part to COVID. The 1m was good to go for a bit, then I got a slight smudge on the lens and proceeded to clean it in the manner advised by Bushnell to no avail, then used cleaner once again per their instruction and still it seemed to just get cloudier. Long story short it was time to upgrade. I noticed the chatter late last year early this year of the impending launch and held out till it was available.

Apples to apples the unit worked like a charm compared to the 1M! The on screen data is crisp and fast when hitting your target. The optics are very clear and a quick adjustment of the eyepiece made the view very very sharp! My local haunt doesn't have any elevation so I didn't look for that adjusted slop data like I normally would when playing a course that does. I will say that, one I totally forgot to turn on my phone app to see how the barometric feature would play into the data so I will deep dive that this week. The unit is heavier then the 1M, which is a good thing. The heaver it is, (to a certain extent) grounds the unit and avoids the user from swaying which makes steadying the hands harder. Think Cadillac versus a small Toyota, the heavier the car the smoother it will ride.

Maiden voyage, GREAT. Will try to really put it through its paces next round this Friday and report back.

Can I separate the "elements" from slope? Meaning can I just have the actual slope or do I have to have the elements as well?
