Mitsubishi Kai'li Blue - Info and Release Date

BubbaBallesteros

Recommended Posts

The Kai'li Blue is currently being used on tour as a "Prototype", just like the Kai'li White was before it hit retail.

I found some Info regarding the tour proto version from the Kai'li White forum, which is shown below. Looking at the Kai'li White's retail spec vs. the Proto, they are identical and I guess we can except the same from the Blue.

Does anyone have any info on a retail release for this shaft?

@MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL is there any info you can give us regarding the release date or how it compares to the Kai'li White or Diamana TB?

TX only. Any chance of this being made for us mortal 95 mph swingers?

Hey Bubba -- Kai'li Blue is still in prototype/testing phase. No launch date currently set for product release but if all continues to go well, it'll be sooner rather than later. What we have seen so far has us excited and early tour adoption has been great.

As far as profile/performance, as most people here know, blue is our mid-launch/mid-spin profile color, dating all the way back to the original Diamana days.

The new Kai'li family uses a Super Low Resin Content Prepreg and players have been raving about how it feels. We're still working on incorporating the new materials used in Kai'li White into new launch and spin profiles. It's been super successful so far in White and Blue is off to a fantastic start too. We get really excited about new materials and their applications and usages because ultimately that's what our company is -- a materials company. New materials open new doors.

We'll keep you guys posted as things develop with Kai'li Blue!

@MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL the kai’li white is killer and love it so far. I think the blue could be solid in a 5 wood for me and will be looking out for it in the future if I don’t end up switch to the white in the 5 wood as well. I’m getting ready to purchase a 80tx for the 3 wood because the feel/control and dispersion with the 60tx in the driver has been what I’ve wanted. I’m coming from the LTD 60tx which is a great shaft in its own right.

I am also looking to go with a 80TX Kai'li Blue for my 5 Wood. Then going either the Diamana PD or Kai'li White in my Driver (60TX) and 3 Wood (70TX) to replace my D+ LTD's.

If I could get a 90tx for my 5 wood I would go that route but I go 60tx and 80tx in both. I need to sell my 2 80tx’s

Hmmm, how does this feel compared to the Diamana ZF - i'm assuming/hoping it's 'more of the same' as i've always preferred a blueboard, and currently have the ZF 70S in my driver...

@MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL if it’s the tapered butt section or whatever else you did, you all killed the white. I’m sure the blue will be just as good but just ordered my 80tx for my 3 wood and will probably for my 5 wood as well just because they’re so good. Keep putting out the goods.

Hey Coops -- Diamana ZF has always been a bit of a 'tweener... slightly stronger than BF but softer than DF. Kai'li Blue will play more stable than ZF and should produce a flatter ball fight and lower spin.

Kai'li White is a truly unique part in our company's history as it's the first white profile we've ever made with a taper butt and even with that tapered handle, it's the strongest, lowest-launching, lowest-spinning part we've ever made. Most of our blue profiles have always used taper butts, so Kai'li Blue will have more of a "classic" blue feel, but it's the first Blue profile we've made using Super Low Resin Content prepreg. That SLRC prepreg drives resin content under 20% in the torque core of the shaft, which is the part of the shaft that reverberates and sends feedback to your hands at impact. When you drive resin content super low, it allows you to use more and more carbon fiber. More carbon fiber in the torque core = better, smoother feel.

Add it all up... Kai'li Blue will use a taper butt handle for that classic blue feel that so many people know and love, but with a lower resin content than we've ever done in a blue profile. KB will be a very, very smooth and very, very stable part.

Love the ZF in my 3 metal, but may be tempted to pick up a Kai'li Blue after reading your post.  I just hoping it spins enough off the deck.

Been waiting on this for a while. Hoping we can get a release date soon, or at minimum a season (summer, fall).

I'd like to know as well.  Talked to @MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL recently and so far no official release date.  Hoping he makes the big announcement soon though.  I really want to test out the 80TX against my ZF.  😁

Just have to say. The original all blue looks 100x better. Great performer as well. I am looking forward to trying out this new one though.

The original Kai'li is a closet classic for sure, Richard Bland is still rocking one in his driver. Personally though the two tone Ion finish, while attractive, was a bit distracting both in terms of glossiness and in terms of orientation due to being blue on one side and silver on the other. It made adjustable hosel settings a little distracting when you had the border between the two colors intersecting at random points based on those settings. I still have an 80x in a Ping Anser 4w though!

I'd imagine that would be the case, just like the White.

In a my TS2 I knew where I wanted the setting and had the adapter glued on to give me my desired orientation. Kind of a pain, but it was worth it to not see the line you mentioned.

If you guys think the store offered Kai li is the same shaft as the TX y’all have lost it. Idc what they want to come out and say for sales sake it’s not the same materials. Not the same shaft. Find me any other shaft on earth that changes 1 full degree in torque going from X to TX.

They’ve done something like this before with the KuroKage. They figure most golfers won’t care that they’re nothing alike.

They add more carbon and or exotic material, usually to the tip section(not always) in order to reinforce and stiffen it up hence the drop in torque values.  I can tell you that from a feel and stability perspective, the TX flex for MCA for most of their shafts feels more stout in general compared to their X flex counterparts.
