Tucson (Public courses)

Hey guys,

 

A quick work trip takes me to Tucson, AZ this week. Was hoping to get a quick round in somewhere. Looking for suggestions for the best public course in the area. Looks like most of the courses are reasonably priced if I play in the afternoon. Thanks in advance!

Anyone in reality.  But I guess Ventana Mtn would the edge the others out by a bit.

I am in Tucson now, and it is my first time playing here.  Played Sewailo on Sunday and really liked it.  Played Arizona National yesterday and absolutely loved it.  Spectacular views, and the greens were rolling really well.  Recommend both of them, but if I had to choose one, it would be Arizona National.

I am so glad to hear this. I ended up booking a tee time at Arizona National tomorrow because it was more affordable than the other options mentioned. I’m excited to play it, I’ll give my review afterwards!

I was overall impressed with the course (Arizona National). The views were awesome. Some of the course conditions were iffy at spots but that’s kind of to be expected with a public course in the desert. Greens were difficult, which I like. But it was my first round in about 5 months so I struggled. Eagled 18 which was a solid close and has me excited for golf to kick back up in Michigan.

 

I’m glad I took the time to play it. Got paired with 3 guys who seemed to be long time friends and I had a good time. If I’m ever back in Tucson, I would play it again!

Thanks for the review - I'm playing AZN on Sunday and Sewailo on Tuesday.

Will give you my thoughts when I get back.
