One weight in the heel but not the toe?  Interesting, wonder if the sweet spot still correlates to the site dot location.

Given that the 009 is already heel biased I would say the answer is no. The site dot looks centered in the cavity.

I'm not sure why he'd want that much weight in the heel but perhaps his natural stroke makes impact with the ball inside of the site dot so the offset COG works for him. That's true with my putting FWIW.

There's also the possibility that the weight is actually lighter, maybe aluminum or something, to move COG more towards the center. But they would likely just put in a heavier toe weight if they wanted the COG more towards the toe so this is just speculation seeing as how I'm a moron😂.

I wonder if it doesn’t make the putter balance closer to horizontal ? It’s bound  to no?

That's true. I'm assuming it's tungsten as most are, but if it's aluminum it would be lighter in the heel and actually move the COG toward the site dot.

*curious. Top pic the site dot is absent… Pic of a different putter snuck in???

That was his old putter. Then they built a new one with the dot. They were just showing the difference.

No cut off... that's why you pay $400 for something that costs $50 to make.

You haven’t bought metal since 2019 then. Billet  blocks big enough for two heads , the operator and the electric bill alone puts the cost Easily above $250 each. And you haven’t made the payment on the machine yet.

i agree with you that tour putters prices are nuts.  But blame that on collectors.    But the retail putters are a great value for what you get.  Removable weights , stainless , you can’t buy a boutique putter for $400.  And you alwasy have the option of Plastic and powdered metal for $225 from other brands.

Great putters thanks for the pics Greg.  I've always wondered what putting a heavier weight in the toe or heel would do.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

PC is the man.  You guys ever see that video when he was yelling at that roudy fan?

"SHUT IT"!!!!  Awesome pics Greg.

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Typically the 009 stainless is 350g, and it happens to be stamped that way as well. Only time you want to do something to the heel is to remove weight. The face balance won't change because that is not determined by heel or toe weighting, as that is determine by shaft intersection point in relation to CG.

I believe its possibly 2 things.

1. Paul wanted a lighter putter, something in the 340 range, and by removing heel weight it would move the CG to the center of the face. Instead of leaving a gaping hole on the sole, Scotty capped it. I know Scotty is very cognizant of CG and he would never purposely heel weight a putter when adding weight.

The only other potential reason is to make the putter even more CG heel biased, as Paul might just strike the putter inside the sight dot, and the CG moving just ever so slightly inside of center of design helps keep the face stable for Paul.

From the wear marks I have seen on a number of tour player putters. It seems that the preferred impact spot is just inside of what I think most would consider the center of the face.
