Favorite LPGA Swing...GO!

Now she got one more hardware to back up the swing. For some reason, her swing this week (2022 Lotte Championship) looks different from 2019 Evian.

Chasing distance. She's picked up 19 yds off the tee since 2019.

Mickey Wright and it’s not even close. The modern LPGA swing today is too jumpy, I haven’t seen anyone on tour today who had the same footwork and legwork as Mickey did with the driver.

She barely lifted her right heel off the ground with the driver at impact and kept her back knee flexed, meanwhile everyone today is up on their right toe and straightens their back knee to almost straight at impact even when hitting a mid iron.

She averaged almost 250 off the tee with 1960s club and ball equipment, and won over 10 times per season for FOUR consecutive seasons from 1961-1964, including 9 majors in that span. Had they tracked driving distance, driving accuracy, and GIR % in those times she’d be #1 in all 3 stats, she was just as straight as she was long.

If she putted as well as Inbee Park/Lydia Ko (she was an average putter at best) and kept competing until 40 instead of retiring at 34, her records would be completely untouchable, I’m talking 40 majors with 200 wins, she was that good.

All players back then are stronger than most people these days, given the fact everything is not forgiving as today, and better technique is needed given its much harder to get the ball up (especially so for women given the lack of strength). Now how that plays on the course where accuracy matters is unknown, on some courses its distance, but on some courses its short game mastery.

So at best we can say she will be a leader in distance regardless of club.... but as for everything else we wont know.

More JYK practice sessions at Pine Needles / Pinehurst area (and Waffle House 'mukbang' sessions) ... this lady has a very endearing personality (and an excellent swing / short game... this video shows her bunker practice too)

Hey All,

Mickey Wright for sure but how does this thread go onto page 4 without the names  Suggs or the Babe? I don't get it. Baffling...

I just wonder how far the babe would hit the ball with today's equipment. Byron Nelson said only 6 8 men could outdrive the babe.

I can well imagine the babe walking into a dressing room at a woman's golf tournament today sayin " the babe is here who is going to come in second" which she apparently did once. She was brash but backed it up by for example winning the 1954 us women's open by 12 strokes not long after being told she would never play golf again (colon cancer) and with a colostomy bag strapped to her leg. They don't make em like the babe anymore.

Just thought a couple names should be added to this thread...
