Summit, Red Rock, Spanish Trails, lots to choose from. Just trying to gather info early, any ones stand out more than others?

You should add Southern Highlands to your list as well.  Of the courses you listed, Summit has to be number 1 by a long shot.  I have not played it yet, but walked the course during the CJ Cup and it looks spectacular.

Been looking at clubs for the last couple months…here’s my perspective.

Summit: yes, very nice but uber-exclusive. You have to own property on the course to join, and lots start around $5M. Even if you do have the scratch, the feedback I’ve heard is that it’s built to play pretty easy to help members  feel good about their games.

Red Rock: Very nice grounds - feels very much like a country club. The course layout is nice with several fun holes, if not overly difficult. Quirky 10th hole was built in an odd place on the property that takes a few minutes to drive to. Fantastic views of the mountains and strip from all over the course. Includes access to Arroyo and Siena courses (both public), so you have 36 holes. Disappointing that the carts are pretty old and dated, considering the membership fees. Very nice fitness and tennis facilities if you’re into that. Good food.

Spanish Trail: Really fun layout with lots of interesting holes (probably the most fun course of the ones listed here, IMO). Conditioning is a bit sketchy right now, specifically FW bunkers. The new ownership is supposed to drop a little over $5M into the course (FW bunker sand, cart paths, driving range equip, and a couple other non-course areas). Almost joined but it’s twice as far from me than two others on this list.

Canyon Gate: OK layout, OK conditioning. Lots of golfing members plus the ClubCorp crowd, so can be hard to get tee times (per a friend member). Feels more like a kinda-nice public course. ClubCorp membership gets you discounted access to Bears Best (and other ClubCorp courses around the country).

TPC Summerlin: Nice layout, PGA tour stop, not a lot of great views, very challenging around the green complexes. Very walkable course if that’s your thing. The property overall doesn’t feel super “country clubish” (feels more approachable). TPC Network gets you practically free or discounted access to other courses in the TPC family.  Closing down for fairway renovations from April to October (TPC Vegas will be used for the members). Great food.

Southern Highlands: Very nice, pretty exclusive. Six-figure initiation with a waiting list.

if you’re up for venturing to Henderson, I’ve heard Anthem and Dragonridge are very nice.

If you don’t mind venturing closer to the strip, I’ve been told by a couple of guys that Las Vegas Country Club is a fantastic club and course. I haven’t seen it myself, so I can’t attest, though.

Keep me posted on what you decide.

Wandered in this forum looking for some Utah ideas and saw this thread.

I did a couple tours last year when I moved back and settled on TPC Summerlin.

All of this is true. I really, really love our course ... and I'm missing it right now more than I thought I would! It puts a premium on driving accuracy and yeah, the green complexes can be super tough.  TPC Passport will get you on any within the Passport network for cart fee only (if you want, of course) BUT ... the bucket list ones like Sawgrass, Scottsdale, etc aren't part of that. Funny enough, neither is TPC Vegas. I'm actually not sure what discounts we get at the others as I've not even tried to play any of them yet but Imma get to TPC Danzante and find out.

Just got a new head chef recently and there's been some great dinners. And it's easy to hit the meager $250/quarter food and beverage minimum. That's pretty much one night out for me and ms. aenemated.

I looked at both Red Rock and LVCC. Red Rock's pretty cool, has a bit more of a "country club" vibe than TPC - by which I mean, the social aspect seems a bit more prominent. TPC is definitely more about being into golf and not really caring about making friends (not to say that doesn't exist - I've met some great guys there) ... which fits me pretty well. Lower initiation fee (it was 10k when I looked) and really the only reason I didn't go there is it's a little farther from me AND I liked the practice facility at TPC a lot more.

LVCC is a SUPER cool, old school Vegas vibe which I absolutely love. Cool, old school style course and the raddest clubhouse. But there's practically no real practice facility beyond what you'd find at your typical muni and the location just didn't work for me at all. If I were more casual about golf; I'd have gone with that in a second just for the vibe.

Overall, really happy with TPC. And super stoked about the improvements being made right now. And TPC Vegas is a fun - and tougher in some ways - track in the meantime.
