Since moving to PXG at the start of 2016 ZJ has one top 3 finish. He finished 2nd in the 2017 WGC Bridgestone. Played much better when he was with Titleist. Hope PXG pays him well.

He was also younger, longer, and a better putter in his Titleist years. It's just not a fair comparison. He's now shorter than he used to be and he was shorter than average in the first place. He used to be one of the best putters as well and he lost that years ago, even with his trusty SeeMore.

Didnt he win the Open at St Andrews 6 months before making the switch? 

 

2015/16 was his first ever season losing strokes gained off the tee, or at least in the 6-7 years prior that I checked...exactly when he made the PXG switch. Since then he has been top 100 in driving only once. Yes you hit it shorter when you get older but the drop off in performance and accuracy doesnt happen overnight. 

 

He remains a good putter, if anything getting better over the last few years, hovering around top 30, his drop off is solely due to accuracy and distance off the tee, plus getting a little worse with irons.

Could he not afford the new Sugar Daddy Ii wedges?

 

The new Gen 5 0311T iron seems thinner?  Almost more cavity back with less room for the xcor inside?  The Gen 4 iron has an additional ridge up to the top line so that is why the Gen 5 looks thinner in the mid section.

Some oems use tungsten but inside the hollow head...pxg has it on the outside where the weight can be changed...brilliant!

Yes...the tungsten on the outside is really a good move. If they were the same color as the body the soles would look even thinner.

I’ve never owned a PXG club, so I’m genuinely asking PXG players, but do you think they’re still following their original plan in regards to only coming out with something if it’s genuinely better than the model it’s replacing, or are they just falling in line with the other brands as far as a release cycle?

I have to admit those Irons and wedges look pretty cool but the Putter is a Clone of the See More and using the See More Grip is a kick in the nuts....  Zac is on a Money grab so I can't blame him for taking Bob Parson's $$$$
