Im still playing Ben Hogan H40 (not the oversize model) w/ Aplex 3 shafts. I believe they are at least 13 to 14 years old. The only reason I am still playing is because I like the way the feel and the ball flight that I get out of these irons. I also really can not part with them because they were my first name brand set of irons, made by one of my favorite players of all time, I just wish that mine were forged. I still have the original grips on the clubs as well, but am finally going to break down and change them, just in case the new set I going to have made up doesnt work out.

Does it count if you keep buying more of the same set? ;)

I actually have 4 sets of MP30s that I've been playing since '04.

The first set was given to me by a friend and they played so well for me I never switched. I've bought other sets to try out different shafts, which I know may sound weird but I don't like messing with my gamers in any way. I'm superstitous like that. I don't want them to think they aren't good enough, develop some sort of self esteem issues, and start acting crazy on me. :clapping: Like when I eyeball those MP57s, I come home from the shop and can feel the MP30s staring at me like I've been caught cheating on them. :clapping: It makes me feel all dirty, and I have to go shower....

Bought a set of used MX-23's recently, love them.

I think the decision to play new equipment comes down to $$$. Why spend $800 when you can achieve the same results for $300.

I am still playing my four yr old fusion irons. The fact they made different golf magazines hotlists not one, two, but three yrs in a row, shows there is no reason to replace. Technology limits mean that nothing new is coming. Just repackaging and rebranding.

Stick with a set, stop ho'ing and groove a swing. Cally all the way baby!

I play Titleist 962b's. I've played them since 1998 or so, so they have some rounds under their belt. I haven't been able to find a set that visually lines up for me like they do and has the feel and forgiveness that they do. As of late, I have been pressuring myself to at least try something new, so I am looking at the MP-57's. Much larger clubs, but technology i suppose is on their side.

Titleist Trip - New Bedford

Titleist TSi3 8* with Tensei AV Raw White 65X
Titleist 915 Fd 15 with diamana d+80X
Titleist 918H2 18* with Tensei CK White 90X
Titleist ap2 716 4-gw with Amt x100
Vokey sm9 54, 58 with Amt x100

I am a high handicapper who is getting back into golf after 10+ years. I bought a cheap new RAM set but have slowly replaced drivers and putter. The irons are not too bad for cheap clubs.

ย

I have a 33 year old (could be slightly older) set of Wilson Dynapower woods and irons. I think I may regrip the irons because I can hit golf wiffle balls very well with them. I need to regrip them before I go to the range. It is weird because they look like really good (modern) blades and I probably need OS game improvement irons but I think I can hit the old Wilsons really well. They have True Temper shafts.

I've been playing the MP60's since they first were introduced. I don't change irons, or any equipment very often, for that matter (I still have one of my first set of shoes sitting ina closet). My last set was the Cally X-14's which I used for about 7 or 8 years.

ย

After playing for 15 or so, years, I'm on my 3rd putter, my third 3 wood, my 4th set of irons (one set I purchased impulsively and only used for 4 months), 4th set of wedges, and last, but not least, on my 5th driver.

ย

For what it's worth, I usually make a change when I feel an improvement, for whatever reason, from one club to another.

Put my beloved Bridgestone J's professional weapons back in the bag a couple of years ago.

ย

Released sometime around 1990. I must've had 20 sets since then but I've gone back to these old favourites to rediscover some of the feel I've been missing.

ย

As good as ANY players cavity back made prior or since and more workable than a lot of modern day blades. The perfect set of irons!

I am playing with the 2004 Top Flite Tour irons. These irons are freaking unbelievable. On another forum there is a 38 page post about how good they are. I never bought into it but I found a set for $79 brand new. I took the plunge. Needless to say my first round I shot the lowest I ever have. Came back and sold my old irons right away.

I'm just getting back into the game after a long layoff. I'm using my old (1988-89) Cougar II CB irons and metal conventional sized woods. I have added a 21 and 24 degree hybrid to replace the 3 and 4 irons and will replace the 1,3,5 woods with a new driver and long fairway wood but the irons still play well enough for my current game.
