Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Pompano area mid level courses

So I have seen some posts on the nicer courses in the area, but does anyone have recommendations for more mid level courses? My wife is just coming off  knee replacement and neither of us have hit balls much this winter so we're looking for a cheaper round for our first round of the week to shake the rust off. What do you recommend?

    Also, how is TPC at Eagle Trace? Looks like $90 a round. Worth it?

TPC Eagle Trace is in various conditions throughout the year so it depends when you catch it. Idk that it's worth the cost to be quite honest. If you're looking for a course that will allow you to point and shoot but still maintain some distance I would recommend Miami Springs. Plantation Preserve is another good quality track at a mid-tier price point. Others I would include here are Miami Lakes GC (formerly Shula's GC), Miami Shores GC, Country Club of Coral Springs.

$90 at Eagle Trace? No. The following courses are much cheaper and not far from where you are. 

Plantation: Good value and great condition (but very busy)  

CC of Coral Springs: only if you find Golf Now hot deal 

Pompano Muni Pines (not Palms): Cheap and ok condition. Great place to practice as not many water holes. 

Osprey Point: The best public course in S. FL with low rate (very hard to get tee time, unless you are single)  

The Bridges at Springtree Golf Club: If you want to play 18 holes (par 62) under 3 hours. Cheap and great condition (managed by the same folks at Plantation)
