Should i buy the PXG 0211 driver and 3-wood?

OK. A few of my friends have bought new drivers and i really hate being upstaged. I can't demo PXGs but as you all know they are super cheap right now. To wit: I can get a 0211 driver AND 3 wood each with a RDX Black , right now for <500$ Canadian. To put that in perspective, the new TMAG Stealth is 750$ Canadian just for driver

 

To put this even more into perspective---500$ is like 2 tanks of gas. So it's a really good deal. I can pretty much buy the PXGs for less than the cost of gas to drive to a place to actually demo drivers. THIS IS NOT THAT MUCH OF AN EXAGGERATION....Yay, 2022

 

Some benefits:

-I would have a full PXG bag (most real world people don't know the 0211's are super cheap). This gives me ample time to mess with people , talk about stock portfolios, butlers, and my fleet of Mercedes (note, i have none of these things---well i do have stocks but you know ). I may wear sweater vests every round.

 

And that's it, no other benefits i can think of.

 

But still....Do it right?

Get a mint used Cobra XB for $225-250 US and enjoy best performance in a driver available.  Std Radspeed if you want really low spin.

LOL i already own the Radspeed, it IS a good driver.

 

this is mainly a purchase i would do for fun/stupidity

If I needed a new driver or just wanted to buy a new one, it would be the 0211.  I have the 0211 irons and if the driver is this good, you can't go wrong.  I also have the 0811XF driver.  Kicked my G400 Max out of the bag!

Somewhat on the subject….how are you liking the 211st irons? Elevate tour shaft?

I'm loving them, only played virtual golf with them so far and been in the golf dome but so far hitting them very solid

 

Yea elevate tours--- they are surprisingly stable and stout. Just much higher launching than s300 obviously. For blades that's a good thing for me

I didn't love the 0211 driver, but the 3w looks like a nice design.  Will be curious to see what you think of the driver.  GL!

Whoa! Knocking a G400 Max out of the bag is high praise. I don't need another driver, but have tempted to take a flier on PXG....

I have the Gen2 woods 1/3/5 and cannot say enough good things. Have an iron fit Friday and will have them check my woods for a fit as well. I say do it! If it works you can yell KABOOM! and if not, return for 85%.

The 0811XF is so good I sold the Max the first day I hit the PXG.  Have not regretted the change for 1 minute.   It's an excellent driver.

I have the pxg proto driver, proto 3 wood, and proto 2 hybrid. All three cut down an inch and weight increased in the head by about 8 grams with their weight kits. I recommend this setup. I lost no distance with them being cut down an inch and my accuracy increased. I won’t go back to cobra, callaway, ping, or TM.

I am really enjoying my 0211 driver and am considering a 5 set to 4 and 7 set to 6 to replace my 3/5. I am buying the 5 wood to test in a bit.

Can't speak to 0211, but the Gen4/proto fairway woods are impossibly straight

Definitely can't beat that price for 2 clubs especially if they work for you. Most drivers are more than that stock.

I ordered today. 12* driver and 18* 5 wood both with tensei blue av raw s.  65 in driver, 75 in 5 wood.  Will loft both down a hair so they sit slightly open. Order came to 565cnd shipped taxes in.

If I were in the market for anything new, I would definitely jump on the PXG bandwagon. The Proto drivers, woods, and hybrids are outstanding, and the prices are hard to ignore.  But with the economy the way it is right now, I'm just going to stockpile cash in my savings for the foreseeable future.  The only club-related purchases I might make would be a few shafts, but that's about it.  The ho in me REALLY wants to order a full bag of PXG though. 😬

I am looking for a 5 wood also but I am trying to wait until April for the Gen 5 to come out and maybe get a better deal
