Isnt he invested in LA Golf with all the other players? Wouldnt be a good look for him to not play one of their models...

Funny you say that. I’ve been saying essentially the same here for a while. And thought about it recently during the Dell telecast. Azinger was talking about DJs putter shaft. Said he’s tried different kick points, butt stiffnesses etc. and I lm like how in the world does any of that matters when the club head speed is like 2.5mph! 🤪

Seeing a one off finish like this reminds me that OEM can paint/finish a shaft to look like any model/shaft they want. You think all the shafts on the PGA tour are actually what they are painted to look like??? I’m voting no. Tennis has been doing this forever. (See Nadal’s racquet)

Its a 2013 Prototype from when they started working with Aldila and they were starting with the laser etching

Ah makes sense, Aldila has been doing the laser etched thing since the Tour Blue/Green, maybe even before? I just saw the article about it, sounds like it was just an original Whiteboard that they were experimenting with the etching on, although I remember Rory kicking around a Diamana proto around that same time period which I thought was likely an Ahina or similar.

A few of the Cobra tour head faces are smooth vs. infiniti/milled faces.  With the amount of time the ball touches the face I can't imagine too much of a difference in spin.

I think this is the 1st time we have had proof / info that it has actually changed. I also assumed he was still in a 43.5, I guess since he has dropped down the rankings his equipment hasn't had the level of scrutiny in terms of detail as it would have if he had won again recently.
