Sometimes I wonder why I go down that whole shaft rabbit hole.

It's gotta be the WRX factor!

I also chose LTDx over LS and it came down to the misses being so much more manageable.

Cobra LTDx 9* Tour AD XC-6 TX, Rad Big Tour 15.5*, Rad Tour 18.5* EvenFlow White 6.0

Titleist U500 4 23* Hzdrus Smoke Black 6.0

Titleist 718 AP2 5-P DG AMT White S300

Vokey SM7 50/8* F, 54/10* S, 58/10* S, S200

Scotty Cameron Squareback No. 1, ProV1

I can't decide to keep either the LTDx 9.0 on 1k white 60x or the LTDx LS 9.0 on autoflex SF505X

Was at PGASS sim and was hitting the AF easier but carry and total distance went to the 1k white. They didn't' allow me to swap heads in the bays for fiddling. =(

I hit both heads good. The LS was just a touch longer, both forgiving.  But I preferred the ball flight, feel and sound of the LTDX.

So I currently play a DF 60tx in the LS but have a Ventus black TR coming and I’m scared it’s gonna be too low/low and gonna need the LTDx

How much more spin can you equate to the LTDX

It honestly wasn't that much more spin for me. The LS to me feels like it's slightly open and I struggled making great contact tbh. But I would say maybe 200-300 spin difference on well struck balls.  Don't get me wrong the LS is still a great head and forgiving in its own right. I have no doubt if I got fit right I could  play the Ls.

It's just thr LTDX exudes confidence for me at setup and that's half the battle. Truly some great technology.

Gotcha! What shafts were you between?

I’ve honestly been reading more bout how the VB TR spins low but nothing too crazy about launching low. Which for me if that’s the case in theory I should just be able to go into the LTDX head with a crazy low spin shaft and get the best of both worlds

I was ready to use the Atmos TS black 6s. Had a really good testing with it.  But on a whim my first day playing the LTDx I put in an Aldila tour green 65s (tipped 1 inch). And it really surprised me the mid flight low spin lasers that just run forever. I've driven 4 green in the last 10 rounds that were between 300-320. Before that with my speedzone I've driven 1 green in last 2 years. So yah there's something to it.

Ps. Im fully ready for the golf gods to humble me after this post. But I'm a true believer in this combo. And more than anything I might of just got lucky into the perfect fit for me.

See and that’s what I’m hoping for, to pair the mid launch head with a low low shaft and get forgiving low spin bombers

I comcur, when i intially tested i couldnt tell a big difference between the two. Went with ls just on shape alone. Now im in the ltdx and agree, the flight, feel and sound is a tad better.

Also, dont be afraid of something a little less common. I had a ventus tr, it was good but nothing outstanding. Then i picked up a motore f1 for 60 bucks (which still can be found), and hit 11/12 fairways with it last round. It also goes pretty well with the matte black/orange yellow scheme of the ltdx

That is such a good point. There are so many cheap/older shafts that are still very good. But man can't say enough how good both of these heads are!

For those who have the Ventus tr blue 6, what’s the swing weight with the Ltdx head?

Im worried that the Ventus tr blue 6s will be heavier than the current shaft (Hzrdus smoke blue 6).

Will the Ventus tr blue 5 be a good fit for the ltdx head?

Thanks

Depends on the playing length. From my experience at least with the 6x, it has a bit higher balance point so it kept swingweight a down a bit.

I play a Jumbomax lite grip on it, but I'll check SW tonight and report back.
