Any WRX'rs in the SoCal OC area?

I'd love to meet up and golf with some WRX'rs in the SoCal OC, South LA Area!

 

Fellow golfers who share my enjoyment of playing multiple sets of clubs just because ...

 

I have a number of golf mates to play with... mostly who play the same set of clubs, same bag, every time, no idea what they are actually doing... but I think I'd really enjoy playing with others who, like me, often switch things up,,, try different set makeups - sometimes half set, sometimes full set... different manufacturers, different bag setup,,, different bags?!  Other like minded addicts who are aware of what lofts they are playing, what their golf ball characteristics are, using a tee vs. hitting off the ground on a Par 3... stuff like that 🙂

 

I mostly golf at Meadowlark/ Costa Mesa during the week, and other clubs in SoCal on the weekends.  It'd would be great if we could set up a group of WRX'rs in the area to play once or twice (I know, I'm am addict...) a week!... or a month 🙂

I'm in LA Echo Park. I prefer to play the LA city and county courses, for budgetary and philosophical reasons - I don't like highly manicured courses. I would like to play some other courses, but no expensive ones 😂

I play with 7-8 clubs, mostly 90s vintage. I don't change up my irons much, but I rotate between 3 putters, and am still trying out different fairway woods. I played a lot in the 1990s and am just returning to the game. I am playing once or twice a week, and since I have my days free (professional musician) I play during the week when it is less crowded and also less expensive.

I also like to tinker with my clubs a lot, I recently assembled a set of old DCI heads with modern lightweight steel shafts and have shortened a few of my woods 1/2' or so, with appropriate swingweight adjustments.

That's cool!  I have a set of DTR irons ('87) that I enjoy playing in the rotation.. great stuff!

 

I only made the semi-pro level in music, so I have a morning job that keeps me from golfing during the week more than 15 miles or so from home 🙄  But I am good with playing courses like Rancho Park, Wilson/Harding, Rustic Canyon, Industry Hills, and places up north, on Sat/Sun's.

Hi pQQa I live in OC in Costa Mesa as well. I play Willowick, Lagos at Costa Mesa CC, and Mile Square regularly. Would love to play!

I’m in OC, I’d be up for a round with some other members of what my wife calls “the nerd herd”. If you need a 4th, I’m down (weekends only for me).

 

Dont play much vintage, I do remember the dtr’s though (distance through research lol. Can’t believe I remember that) and they were a good one. I am definitely an equipment junkie. I’m pushing the limits on the 90 day Roger Dunn exchange policy trying to fit myself through trial and error.
