Will Rickie Fowler ever make a cut on the PGA Tour again?

Do we know who initiated the parting of ways?

I can't imagine his caddie has been very happy with his lack of earnings on tour of late. Maybe it's not a lucrative bag to carry.

I would have to bet that Rickie takes care of his caddie no matter what. The big caddies like Joe get salaries plus winnings or bonuses.

Some interesting phrasing from Rickie.

https://www.golfchannel.com/news/rickie-fowler-parts-ways-longtime-caddie-joe-skovron

"It happened Friday night when we finished up in Greensboro," Fowler told Lewis. "Told Joe I wasn't really gonna go into details on who brought up the decision or who made the decision or anything like that. We've always been a team, we always will be a team, he's like a big brother to me. Friendship and all that comes first.

"No hard feelings or anything like that, I just thought it might be the best option for the current time, but by no means does this mean we're not gonna rekindle the flame in the future or anything like that, but I know it's been tough on both of us."

My take on this is that his sponsor Puma/Cobra is behind this. They have invested alot of money and time in Rickie and are likely very concerned about going forward with their sponsorship. So they put Ben Schomin - a Cobra employee - on the bag and he will evaluate all aspects of Rickie as a viable tour pro: preparation, mindset and on-course approach and course management, practice routine, coaching and coachability, his off-course activities and personal aspects that may be affecting his game.  This is all about money.

If Rickie stay determined and keeps at it, he will win again. He has already proven that he can do it.

Caddie changes, swing changes etc etc are all part of the process of trying to find that secret sauce again. Doesn't matter if you are Tour pro or a high handicapper, you go through the same process to improve.  The work that the Pros put in every day to improve has always been a huge inspiration to me.

The reward for Pros is much more impressive- they win a several million dollar tournament, make a Ryder cup team..,

For us amateurs, the harder we work the luckier we get !

No chance did a club manufacturer tell their guy to switch up his caddie.

He and 9 others made the top 125 FEC playoffs cut off by circumstance and not by playing merit. Let's not gloss over that fact.

Good point but the premise of this topic was that he might not make another cut. He has made a number and will make many more. Like I said before it is more likely that he win again than not make another cut.
