Will Rickie Fowler ever make a cut on the PGA Tour again?

The funniest part of all of this is Rickie's made $700k this season which is more then 99% of Americans and probably everyone in this thread

I'll bet his golf expenses were way more than that.  Good thing he's raking in the endorsement dough.

Rickie being the punching bag du jour gives Phil a break.

Only on WRX.  I'm sure he's still good everywhere else.

Phil and Greg are still getting a beating.

The question is when will Rickie or Dufner make a cut, not a good showing for Cobra/Puma with those 2.

I can remember a tournament this year where he was 6 under the first day then shot 5 over and still missed a cut so we will see because if he does miss this cut there will be less people following him. Even if he does make the cut I’d be surprised if he finishes the tournament under par

Regardless of current his current golf form, the dude has made a pretty good life for himself.

Everyone drooling over his wife but you realize that having a hot girlfriend is better than a hot wife, right? You can trade out the hot girlfriend for a newer model. The exit costs for asset retirement on the hot wife when she becomes the aging wife is MUCH more expensive. I would say the same for DJ and all these other guys.

This is such a silly statement. If someone wanted to be the old orange guy with the perpetually young girlfriends, they wouldn't get married (and have kids)

Rickie Flowers has had a nice career, seems like a good guy, doesn’t cause any trouble.

But I kind of wonder why he gets so many commercials.  He hasn’t ever been an elite golfer, he doesn’t imo have a magnetic personality ala Palmer, and isn’t a young up-and-comer any more.  I know he was a good looking CA-surfer boy when younger but these days seems pretty happy w an awful mustache/mullet.  Gotta retire those flat bill hats, too - those are for teenagers and college kids.

I would like to see more deserving players take his place on these commercials.

Either you missed my point or, more likely, I failed to make it. Obviously, I am also not saying that just dating young women your whole life is a good way to live. Having a family is very rewarding. It's just funny when people say "he has a hot wife his life must be awesome." I think attractiveness as the primary evaluation criteria matters more when you are dating someone vs being married to them. Once you are married you are making a ton of major life decision together, sharing finances, raising children. All the sudden if that person is terrible at those other things (not saying Rickie's wife is) her being hot means almost nothing. Her being a good mom, kind, intelligent, etc is more important at that point.

Or said another way, having a "hot" wife means less and less the longer you are married to her if the two of you are not a great fit. It's not like you're sleeping together every day or something (welcome to marriage everyone).

Perhaps, the point of your statement seemed to be if you are going to be happy about a hot partner, that you might as well have an easy upgrade path in place.

Sure he will make some cuts as there are even amateurs who can make the cut today but the real test will be can he finish a tournament under par as he played much better the 2nd round only due to better weather conditions compared to what Rory had to play in and Rickie shot over par in better weather conditions too.  Good job Rickie but sorry not impressed as I'm not about to get my hopes up to see him in contention on the final round folks.  It will be amazing if he is not over par by the end of the 3rd round let alone finish under par by the end of the tournament clapping GIF by Mike Shinoda

I get the impression that Rickie is just happy to slog along as long as he's making some money.  He's not a hungry kid anymore and it seems like he's just satisfied to make a living.

That's not necessarily how it works my man. Some guys get commercial dollars cause they win and everyone else who gets significant commercial money,  gets it because people like them. Rickie has had a significantly large social media presence from early on. That drives his commercial relevance,  not his performance.  He does need to keep his card though at a minimum.

Now that he's made the cut, the mods should put a lock on this and be done with it.
