Who is doing the best iron head refinishing?

I have two sets of iron heads that I would like to have refinished.  Who is doing the best work these days?  I probably won't be going with a dark type finish, rather most likely re-chromed with a satin finish or just leave them raw and hit them with some gun blue stuff I use on my other raw heads.

 

I'm aware of Tiger Nick and the Iron Factory (here in CO).  Anyone else I should consider?  TIA

Flanigan Bilt to me is the best by far. Check out his Instagram, and look closely at his work and others.

He's more expensive than Tiger Nick, but photos show his work is clearly superior.

 

While his website says 6-8 weeks right now, expect it to take little longer. I sent some wedges in and expect them to be done next week, which would be about 9 weeks.

 

I plan on sending my irons in later this year.

These turned out well from tiger nick.  I have about 20 rounds on them and they’ve worn well

I’d say flannigan for satin or rechrome.  Golf garage has some nice coatings for irons as well, they’re just over priced in my opinion.

I think the Iron Factory moved to AZ a few years back.

Doug Oughton, Oughton's golf did a set of TM RAC CB's and they came out nice! Prices are very reasonable.

Another vote for Doug. He did a stellar job on my Muirfields and very reasonably priced.

I haven't had Doug chrome any of my clubs, just strip some raw and they all came out great. If you want Chrome Flanigain Bilt seems to do amazing work, I'd go with one of those 2. This is not a thing you want to cheap on to save a few bucks if you care about the clubs. Flanigain Bilt will also weld in stuff (initials, logos, etc) if you want to change the look and can also etch in logos with a laser.

Doug polished up and regrooved my old Wilson R90 SW.

Did a great job at a reasonable price.

Thanks for chiming in with some additional recommendations for the iron refinishing job.  I'll be reaching out to a few of them.  Luckily I'm not in any rush for the turn-around time.

I picked up a set of OG Nike Forged blades on 2nd Swing that were pretty banged up and sent 'em off to Flanigan for that rad "factory chrome" he does.

 

By the looks of his IG; he's mega busy so no expectation as to when they'll be back - but yeah, really looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

My experience only:

 

Iron Factory - totally screwed up a Spalding Cash-In putter situation.  Believe it or not I ended up having them keep it.  That's how bad it was.

 

Flanagan - did a putter refurb for me; work was stellar.  However, I caught him while one of his vendors went out of biz during Covid.  My wait was forever and  day, but it was well worth it.  He's also a fun guy to chat golf with.

 

Oughton - currently has my Dad's '74 Macs and is refurbushing them.  On March 3 he quoted me 6 weeks.  I'm still waiting and I know it will, too, be worth the wait.
