What is your single most expensive club? For me, it's probably my Driver (SIM 8* + Ventus Black 6x Velo)

i paid just under $1000 out the door for an original sim 8* with an oban kiyoshi blue tour limited shaft two years ago. 

 

caved the sim face in and sold the shaft. 

 

i can’t wait until the collectible putter crowd starts chiming in.

Gotta be my driver all in. 600 all in. Putter was a close 2nd since it was a trade and the putter I traded was a custom built and had LAGP shaft. But driver takes the cake especially since I have other backup shafts in true WRX fashion.

Autoflex shaft.  At least I picked it up used but still cost more than a new driver and didn't get a head with it.

Sometimes for sure.  As long as I keep my swing smooth it's long and straight.  Bad swing equals bad shot, as it will with other shafts.  Jury is still out.  Just changed from a Sim2 to a Sim2 Max and I'm hitting it better.

Mine would also be my putter. I don't know how I could put a price on it though. I had the opportunity to get fit by some dud name Scott a few years back. It's a studio select NP2, then with some custom work and stamping done on it–built by the man himself.

Tsi4 driver with AF was about 1400 all in.  Worth it.

I've owned a couple tour issue putters (Scotty, Swag) but can't bring myself to use them on the course...the thought of devaluing them with one tiny ding is too much for me to bear 😬 Ironically, my long-time gamer that I putt the best with only cost me 150...

Most expensive single club (so that excludes iron set) is driver. G425 Max with Ventus black 6x, got on BST for 400 used

A friend passed away and his wife gave me his SC Brad Faxon with minimal use and a Faxon signature on the face and Cameron signature on teh head cover....  Never going to sell because of where it came from, not what it is.

The club that is worth the most = Scotty TeI3 Santa Fe that I've had for 20+ years and is still in close to perfect shape.

A Titleist driver that I got fitted for at Club Champion last year.  It’s obscene how much they charged me for it, custom built with upgraded shaft. I’m embarrassed to even say how much it cost.  And here it is less than a year later and I can’t even sell it for half of what I paid.  I will never go there again, I could have gotten it for way less ordering the same setup through the Titleist website. Lesson learned…

How much R&D and tech is in the driver and its shaft vs. your putter?  I can put a 30 year-old putter in play and it'll perform no worse than a brand new one.  Can many of us say that about a 30 year-old driver?

 

Compare the price of your putter and amortize it over the number of years it stays in play.  Now, do the same for your driver.

I paid $140-ish for my driver from CPO in 2018...$48 after trade-in credit and price adjustment.
