So I went into Edwin Watts yesterday in Ft. Lauderdale. I work on the cruise ship as the golf pro and I wanted to see some real golfers. Well I get in there and there is a J. Lindenberg rep. I talked to him for a few mins and he told me if i buy a shirt I can get Jesper to autograph a hat. I said BS. Well I asked him if he was joking. Well he wasn't. Jesper was there for promotion. I spent about 3 hours talking with him and watching him hit drivers.

Jesper is a very nice guy and up to talk about anything. I got a few photos and some close up videos of his swing. I was about 3 feet away from the club when he swung as i was standing right behind him. Jesper had some Wilson clubs but they haddent been hit. They were dinged up from clubs but no marks. Well except for the LW and Gap wedge. It was 60* and 50*. I doubt he used them in play. He mentioned he would have the irons ground. He had the new driver with screws. They had Graphalloy spined shafts. Prolite 35-X burgandy.

He said his average swing speed is 116mph and his highest was 124mph. He was on a vector Launch Monitor. When he swung full it was about 296yds. He was using an 8.5* and a 10.5*. He said his irons are High KPT and about 6.8 rifle shafts. his irons seemed flat. I asked him about his grips. Just one wrap of tape Tour velvet .58 round, upside down.

The new JL Puma shoes seem heavy. He wasnt wearing them but some fashion cowboy boots with his Troon White Pants. Surprised he wasnt slipping all over the place.

He said that him and VJ just play for around $100 bucks when they are in practice rounds. VJ plays one down autos.

I told him the first time i had ever seen him play was at the British Open at Turnberry. I felt bad but it was the truth. I saw him make all the birdes. Then i stayed back to watch Nick hit into 17. Saw the eagle just feet away from me. What a great day that was.

He had a sweet vintage Rolex Explorer II from the 70ties

He was heading off to Colorado later that afternoon. Blah blah blah.

Nice post....always like to hear news & gossip about players. Jesper is a fine person and I really hope he will get back in to form and perform at the highest level on the PGA tour again :)

what a great opportunity! good for you. I really like Jesper, I'm just surprised he doesn't win all the time. his swing is amazing. I saw him at Brookline at the R.Cup he played great there. Nice picture.

I did this corporate outing with Jesper and after we (80 of us) had dinner at his house. Both he and his wife are supoer nice and very friendy. It was a great time. You should see his equipment room.

I was waiting until i read all the posts on this one before adding what a great guy Jesper seemed to be during the practice round at Brookline I went to that year. We had swilled some booze in a hospitality tent before 4 of us decided to find Jesper, hang over the ropes with our hat brims turned upwards and get his attention. He took it all in stride and had some fun with the drunk obnoxious americans! Good guy, love to see him win more.
