What are your workhorses?

Which clubs are your go-to/old reliable/in play the most? (Besides putter of course.)

As the composition of my clubs have fit my game better, I've been surprised with the clubs I'm always reaching for now. I used to go to my hybrid, 7 iron, and 54* wedge all the time.

Now, I use my 5 wood all the time (obviously on longer holes) - it's like a reflex now where I just trust that club. And as I've gone with higher probability bump and run chipping instead of the perfect soft flop that I want to do so badly, my go-to wedge has become the 48*. And I think this is a good thing - I'm not necessarily always going to a certain iron, I'm really spreading use across all of them at the proper distances.

Surprisingly, my answer to this question is 48* wedge and 5 wood.

I thought I would never say this but definitely 2 iron off the tee. My driver consistency is very much lacking, so if I come across a shorter par 4, it is nice to have a fairway finder with some distance as well.

Stealth Plus  13.5° (Ventus Black 7x) - 3 Wood

52 wedge is the workhorse for sure, anything like 85-110, and 90% of chip shots. 7 iron sees a lot of action on par 5 second shots after a good drive.

For me these days it is the 7 & 9 woods 5 iron for bump and run and mostly the 8 iron for approaches over 105 yards.

PW for me. I can hit it between 95-130 depending on the shot required and feel confident. Very useful to have that club in your bag with South Florida winds lately.

I love using my wedges, especially my Srixon Z785 approach wedge. I use it from 100-110 and that's a distance I seem to have a lot.

At the other end of the bag my Rogue Heavenwood is always fun to hit off the deck.

Wedges + putter. Everything else is a toss up. Will i hit it straight? Will it chunk it? No one knows!

4W is my baby off the deck when I’m 210+ out. Always extremely consistent, and I’m not afraid to push it on gettable par 5s. Has really made long par 4s less intimidating as well. From 80-120, my Pw is money. Full, 3/4, and 1/2 swings with it give nice 120, 100, and 80 yard gaps. I’ll often find it easier to take a little off or add a little more to hit an intermediate yardage, as opposed to switching clubs.

My driver and 3 wood are both really good, I think this new 3 iron is on it's way, and then my 60 from 75 and in.

I have a lot of confidence in my driver and hit it everywhere it makes any sense to do so.  The other two workhorses are my faking Tec 19 hybrid and my 54 wedge.  I love this particular hybrid because the shot shape is such a consistent fade.  I don’t have to worry at all about going left so a lot of stress is relieved on long second shots on par 5’s or tight driving holes.  The 54 is used around the green out to about 90 yards really regularly.

3 Hybrid and 56.

I can use the 3h just about anywhere with acceptable results...off the tee on short 4s or long 3s, off the deck, out of the rough, and even out of fairway bunkers.

56 gets used the most around the green.  Short bunker blasts or short-sided chips get the 60, but longer bunkers, most chips, pitches, even the occasional flop...56 is my go-to.

3Wood and 3hybrid are the two safest clubs in my bag off the tee.  After that 7i and 52* seem to be comfort clubs for me.

19* hybrid - 195-220

56* - Anything 90 yards and in.  Bunker shots, lob, lower trajectory shots that check, flops

I have no idea why I carry a 60 other than for extremely short side shots that run away

3w, pw and 54. 3w has become my old reliable though it's not that old, shape is perfect and I can't find anything better. Since I got rid of a gap wedge my creativity with my pw and 54 has gotten much better and I don't find myself thinking too much picking a club, less options is better for my tiny brain.
