Day is testing out a couple new Odyssey Toulon "J Daytona" proto putters this week, but he says he'll likely stick with the red TaylorMade Spider this week.

Totally agree, he's so due. Really drove the ball great last week at Wells Fargo, just a tough moving day. He's got a great value at odds to win this week too.

That putter is cool. 

I also love the slight leading edge grind on the P7MC irons. I am guessing he wanted that because he played the 760s for so long and they had a leading edge grind. 

 

Crazy that he is still swinging X7s with all those back issues..

Is he playing the Tour b x or the xs? Bridgestone said he switched to the x when the sponsorship was announced, but I think I saw the blue numbered xs last week.

You are spot on Medson. JDay was rocking that over 10yrs ago. I bet that putter has won him some $$.

I really hope this new swing is going to turn his game around. He seems like such a great guy and I'd love to see him back to winning tournaments. Also, in this era of big equipment contracts, I really find myself rooting for the Free agent guys. Love seeing these mixed bags, they're way more interesting.

That 3 wood looks like it was bent quite a bit upright.  Maybe he's trying to draw it more?

IMO its probably more related to delivery characteristics. The wear pattern on the sole and the impact marks we CAN see suggest he's a little toe down at impact, so the club is likely bent upright to help compensate for that. Good eye though, we can see the slightly ill fitting ferrule that is often a side effect of bending fairway hosels too.

Has he been practising his putting on a cart path? The sole of that spider has some interesting wear marks. Scratches going diagonally across the face??

I read somewhere on here that the Spider accidently fell on a cart path or something.

Went to the Byron today and saw JD putt it off the green into a bunker in 17. 
It was an impossible putt so it didn’t matter which wand he was using.
