Hey, all! 

This is about the Golfweek Amateur tour. If anyone is a participant, would like your feedback. 

 

A little background. I have been a competitive player for about 20 years. I ran a league. I was a rules official at one point. I was a member of the Golf Channel Am Tour. It was great.

Compared to Golfweek. 

 

I find the website to be lacking. There are still pages that show the 2015 season is over!  

Rules? I find myself explaining the basics virtually every round. Local events rarely take into account that course markings lack. Well, that means your shot into the trees means you have to re-tee, since there are no red stakes or lines. Try to explain lost ball to another and it's a blank stare.

There is a single scorecard for a foursome. They have a live scoring ap where another player inputs scores. In theory, this works, but, do you want to be on your phone in a tournament?

 

The owner of this tour is Dennis McCormac. I would like to contact him about the issues I see, but, I haven't because I don't want to be banned from the tour-instead of him recognizing that I, and others, just want things to be cleaned up.

Decent tour, I have played it for three years. Biggest disappointment of the whole thing is I won nationals in Hilton head last year and got a $750 Edwin watts gift card. Talk about a kick in the dick. Paid all that entry fee the travel money etc. and I couldn’t even take my wife and kids for ice cream with the winnings. I get it’s not all about the money but I’m sure you get my point. Pm me if you have any specific questions I’d be happy to talk.
