Interesting to see the 440 being categorized as mid spin.  You’d think this would be the lowest spinning option.  Any thoughts on this?

Don't recall a 440 option in the epic speed line, but the Mavrik 440 had a similar profile (link to it below), but states "neutral ball-flight with mid spin profile" vs. the Mavrik TD which had a low spin

Yeah, talk about circling around your question …

What do you mean we shouldn’t be playing a deep faced driver and three wood that should only be reserved for tour players and go get properly fitted with a retail product. This is WRX. Forget that idea.

What is this properly fit business you speak of? Are you telling me just buying what I want to try in an endless cycle isn’t how you’re supposed to do it?

So callaway did away with the subzero model and reintroduced it as the TD LS this year for retail. Last year they released nothing in that spot but then did a post launch limited TD and TDLS release.

Seems this year they are doing both things - but STILL not releasing the standard TD model.

Exactly.  If they are going to release some of the additional TD models, they REALLY should release the standard TD driver (which appears to be VERY heavily played on tour), as well as the standard TD fairway wood in a higher loft than 14*.   Callaway - PLEASE DO THIS!

tbh i dont know what the deal is with these tour only club releases, but judging by how much past-model tour inventory is just sitting on the website at Callaway preowned I think someone is preemptively saying 'uh, we better sell some of these while theyre popular'.

The minimum order QTY for a driver head from callaway's foundry must be pretty high which is why i think theyre releasing the TD S model and not the TD model to the public - the TD S seems to be the least used model on tour and one of the more odd models that fits basically no amateur golfer.

Was on the USGA page just for S&G's.  Was counting the amount of Rogues and noticed one I hadn't seen before.  Maybe old news.  But, Triple Diamond XLS?  Assuming Xtreme Low Spin.

Doubtful. Those would be TC serial numbers. These likely being TA. One is specifically measured and tested for the tour and the other isn’t.

We'll see when people have them in hand. CPO has been selling TC serial heads for a while now - but yes I know theyre old stock.

When the TD was released post-2021 Epic line release were they all TA serial? The TD heads on CPO right now especially the tour-only models like the DS are all TC serials. As well as the older Mavs and etc as mentioned.

I had the Mavrik and Epic Speed TD and they were both TA numbers.

Guess its only the legit truck-only models like the DS and other 'non retail' models. Everything I've ordered from CPO has been a TC serial.

Fairway golf's description says the TD S is similar to the epic speed. Anyone know if that means the standard epic speed or the triple diamond version? And can anyone compare the two if they have hit them?

Virtually no one has hit the TD S model unless you're on tour.

They are wrong in their description. The TD S is a 440cc fade-biased head with low spin and is nothing like the retail 'standard' Epic Speed. It's almost like a smaller TD model.

I got my information from the TXG/Johhny Wunder video where he goes through and describes all the tour van Rogue ST heads in detail. Talking Callaway Tour Issue Club Heads with Johnny Wunder // CALLAWAY ROGUE ST DRIVERS - YouTube

I am coming from a TA epic speed triple diamond 10.5* -1/N and have tried the ST TD(non-LS) and currently have the TD S. So purely subjective, I feel the ST TD heads are both neutral heads. I got along better with the S vs the TD mainly because of the loft. 9* in the TD and 10.5* S. I tried to loft up the TD to +1/N, but did not get the same launch/flight as the S at -1/N. So with the same shafts, length and swing weight distance-wise the S was longer for me due to more carry(again prob loft related). The ST's have good run out after landing. The S will look a bit smaller at address than the TD speed and noticeably  smaller than ST...not mini-driver small, but like Cally FT tour small. So this is all a subjective comparison from the driving range I use alot(with real balls)and home course play. No numbers or technical data as the trackman around here is $200/hr to "test" clubs.  As far as how a retail TA TD S will compare to a TC TD S is to be determined. I do wish I was able to get a 10.5* TD ST to compare but the prices are still way up on these things to experiment.

I checked out his blog and didn’t see much specifically on the 3 wood. My guess is these are still under embargo. So, they’ll be tight lipped about them until that’s up.

Im here. We aren't selling them at Retail. Fairway USA sourced them from somewhere and is selling them.

Thanks for the info.  I didn't know retailers could do go that route.  But hey, they're available for those that want them so that's cool.

Totally cool that we get a direct response by Mr Wunder! And very much more cool that these have been released at least somewhere mainstream. Cant wait to receive mine.  Callaway has really gone niche with these multiple head driver releases.  Really differentiates from TM and I have been a long time TM guy!

Does Callaway not have a pretty decent lock down on the tour issue clubs and where they go out to?  I'd think they'd be able to track the serial numbers and know who they originally distributed them to.  We're not talking 10's of thousands of retail heads here.  I can't imagine more than a few thousand of this head was manufactured.

Maybe a version they made for Xander that they had to get approval for?
