He put back in the 5 wood, can clearly see on the first tee he has the driver Tiger head cover and 2 stealth fairway wood headcovers

Wondered how long that would last.

Yeah same, especially after he didn’t really put the 2 iron into the fairway all day with those stingers like we expected.

Has he kept the 3 iron in the bag?

To be honest my theory is he is gearing up towards St.Andrews. I believe he legit thinks he can win. It’s his favorite place in the world and you KNOW he wants to win one more Open there. Only has about 2 months to dial in the stingers.

Any other Stealth owners now wondering if we need a 15g sliding weight like TW? I wonder if that gives him more speed.

Man I just replaced my 10g one with a 6g to adjust the SW, but I appear to have gone the wrong direction...

Anyone know what size grips Tiger uses? Or how many wraps of tape?

Tiger uses Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord (same as me 🙂 ), with one wrap of masking tape and one wrap of double sided tape on his irons, and eliminates the masking tape for his woods. He wants the same butt diameter feel throughout the set. So basically standard for the irons, and minus 1 wrap for the woods. Source, a Nike or Taylormade video from some time back.

Also important to mention he uses 58R Tour Velvet Cords compared to 60R or others, just to be super specific.

FJ's top of the line shoes haven't been fully leather-soled for at least a decade now if not more, right? The last time the Classics line were leather-soled was sometime in the mid-2000s and then they switched over entirely to rubber/foam Classics Tour line which were similar but much lighter. I can definitely see that TW needs a last that is much more roomy--Nikes are notoriously narrow both in the uppers and in the platform.

I absolutely cannot wear Nike because of this. FJ is better but also doesn't fit as I have hobbit wide feet but small ankles.

Hi, What I can see on the shafts mr T Woods; from his driver this week is set about 8 degrees loft and spoon is strong lofted around 13 degrees ?

So I guess he still plays (at his age) close to traditional iron lofts…

That would be around 19 degrees loft on twoIron, 22 degree threeIron, 25 (4iron), 29 (5iron), 33 (6iron), 37 (7iron), 41 (8iron), 45 (9iron), 48.5 (PW or 49 which is The exact traditional pitchingwedge loft he used to play), 52 gap-, 56 sand-, and 60 lobbwedge?

If so nearly exact 2 clubs

weaker loft than for example

most of the Modern clubs produced:

stronglofted irons

and compaired with The Great Scientist Bryson (but BDS plays with special samelength Xstiff ironshafts).

Do TW have Every ironshaft X-stiff, and also the wedges in extra stiff shafts !?

Seem okay to me. I (at about the same age as TW) play stiff shafts in Every Iron, wedge and metallwood exept my spoon which is set up nice in Xstiff…

If this is about correct guess on the LOFTS (in That case TW still plays about / uses maximum 0.5 degree loft difference from my great Wilson Staff Goose Neck origin al irons from 1989), which I personaly enjoy very much Every singel week (when I swing pretty good).

Not forgiving 2-4 irons but pretty large clubheads and forgiving, read pretty easy to hit good (or fair) but 5-PW certainly is a touch forgiving (when it’s Nice / hot outside).

Hope we get to see him at the Open Championship in a few months.

We will see. I think it's common knowledge he doesn't do well anymore in cold weather as it tightens his back. Not sure how he will handle the conditions of St. Andrews given this and that leg also looks far from healed

Does anyone know what going one notch below LOWER on the 3 wood does to the settings? Does it go to 12ish°?

Opens the face angle when soled, which is a pretty common thing to do. It will lower loft when re-squared. Hard to know what exactly his loft specs are, so you’d have to know that to know what he actually ends up with.
