Sorry, and this might be mean, but I’m not tipping on that kind of gouging.  And since I hate being cheap and not tipping…..I wouldn’t be drinking. 
 

Just no excuse for that. I know it happens everywhere……I guess that’s why I don’t go to any events anymore. It’s just ridiculous.

At the open they have water stations where I think you bought or could bring a bottle and could refill as much as you want.

I'm shocked people are surprised...I guess posters don't live in big cities or attend professional sporting events or concerts?

 

I went to see Dead&Co at Dodger Stadium 5 years ago...two beers were $37 and change.  At least tipping wasn't an option.

 

Last fall I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl...my beer was just under $20.  And the iPad asked me for a tip too!

 

Makes me glad I'm old and don't drink as much, or at all, when I go out these days.

We saw Flogging Molly and The Violent Femmes at Virgin (RIP Hard Rock) last fall and my beer and ms. aenemated's Jameson and soda was like $40. 

 

This is why I stick to gigs at crappy dive bars.

That is comparing to concerts though.  I am unsure if anything like this has taken place at a golf tournament so I will share in the shock.  Last two events I was at were the US Open at Erin Hills and BMW Championship at Medinah.  That was Medinah with Chicago prices and I paid NOWHERE near $19 for a can of beer.  Hard to believe these are prices in Oklahoma of all places.  I honestly thought the picture of the beer prices was some sort of clever joke but it sounds like this is real.  

 

Was anyone at the PGA last year when Phil won?  Maybe that would be a better comparison.

Well.  I mean it did cost $3800 to haul the beer from the store to the course.  You have to get it back somehow .
