Which shaft is "softer?"

 

And which shaft spins more?

Just depends... I spun the X100 more... but find the C-Tapers softer.

 

I moved into C-Taper 130X from Project X 6.5s and noticed a little less spin and they felt about the same.

 

The X100s are a little stiffer than both, but did not reduce spin FOR ME.

Just switched from an iron set with X100's to C-taper 130X's, and I'm loving the C-Tapers. In my experience the C taper feels like the stiffer, more board like shaft. The thing I'm noticing more is that my side to side dispersion is a lot better with the C-tapers. I feel a lot more in control and a small miss puts on the edge of the green instead of having to try and get up and down.  

It's hard for me to give a true scientific answer though, especially with spin, because I switch heads at the same time too. I went from S-55's to a Titleist 716 CB/MB combo set FWIW.

If we are talking CPM wise, the C-taper 130X are stiffer.  I found the X100 to spin more on flightscope back in the day.

I thought I’ve read somewhere that kbs tends to play a little softer. But I don’t know.

I've been a big c-taper fan for a long time, the 130x does CPM out out and on the rifle scale (if that means anything to you) does come out stiffer. X100 = 6.8 and c-taper 130x = 7.2. C-taper has a S+ model that comes out at 6.7 which is probably the closest. From personal experience, i would say that the 130x plays and feels stiffer than the X100 and the S+ is closer. C Taper 120 or 125 S / S+ is a great feel as they were in my Cobra MB / CB set. But, X100s are just excellent all the time. I could play both with no worries but, 130 C Taper X is just a tough sell for me.

X100s are pretty different from the other two. X100s are butt stiff, and C-tapers and Pro X shafts are softer handle and stiffer mid and tip. So pro X and C - taper "should" launch higher with less spin than the X100s. But that is all relative and can play differently for everyone depending on how you deliver the club.

Sorry, so will the c tapers feel softer since it's softer in the handle?

I don’t think profile matters as much as material. I don’t think c tapers feel good at all..

Very little performance difference from every test I've seen. C-taper has less feel of loading to it, which is probably why most prefer the X100. On the rifle scale the C-taper is a bit stiffer:

Used to only play x100 now have a couple seasons with the 130x. Spin might really be dependent on other factors. Idk if I can tell a difference. But they're very different in terms of feel. 130x is very boardy and I feel like it plays a little stiffer. But because it feels like you have a 2x4 in your hands, they feel waaaaay stiffer.

 

Not sure on the numbers but I think most people would perceive the x100 to be softer and potentially offer more spin.
