Sick sick bag. Interesting that he and Spieth both stick with older fairways.

I wonder what length/lie guys like JT and a few others play... curious how much they deviate from a stock/off the shelf spec.

More spin. The older ones are much easier for them to control ball flight and landing zones in comparison to the newer, hotter faces on the TSI line.

Could be, I was thinking it was the scorelines, I prefer my 917 over the TSi line for that reason. I also like the deeper face on the older Fds, I can see why JT prefers it in the 5 wood.

Is it just me, or does the stamping of the 5 on his 5 iron look off compared to all the other clubs?  Could just be angle for sure, but it just really stuck out to me.

Also interesting on the fairways.  I'm debating about putting a 5w in the bag this summer and an old Titleist one might just fit the bill for sure...

I have a heavier weight in the sole of mine similar to JT and I just checked the sweet spot, it's basically bang on the 4th groove which is more or less where his strikes are centered.

What? ZF is a staple on tour, Cantlay games it in driver and fairway, Van Rooyan. etc. Plenty more as well.

i only know of Cantlay. Van Rooooo uses the DF last I checked. I could be wrong though.

I thought exactly the same!! The one thing that stood out was the fairways - they’ve all bar Cantlay gone to the tsi driver but all stuck with the ts fairway that instantly tells you the performance is of the tsi is inferior to the ts. The thing I love the most is his 915 - not so much the club but the reason behind it is what all amateurs feel - they find a club that has pulled off their best memories and rely on it no matter what tech comes out each year - the fact a top pro does that for the love of the game shows the human element that they are just like your next door neighbour but extremely talented at swinging a golf club and the game happens to reward that talent with obscene riches and global fame!

Spieth, JT, and Cantlay are all notorious for being very slow to change to new stuff, so those three dudes are very poor foundations to make the case the TSi fairways are inferior, especially given how well their adoption has been on tour literally everywhere else.

Jay, this is pretty much exactly how I feel about my 915H 18* - part of it is probably the shaft that has been such an amazing fit, but it outperformed any of the combos of the next two generations of Titleist hybrids for me, and is so incredibly versatile for me. Really shouldn't even think of changing it.

As mentioned above, the sweet spot on the 915FD 5w is right on the 4th groove, so those are actually pretty centered strikes vertically speaking.

Have his irons always been 621mb JT? Noticed in on hosel pick.

Since the CJ Cup late last year. Both JT and Adam Scott got custom sets from Titleist – JT with even less offset than normal and AS got a copy of his old 680 MBs
