Calling Decent Players; Did Getting "Fit" for Clubs Your First Time Help Your Game?

For irons, to me, once you find what works and fits your swing thats basically what you need unless you change your swing.

 

Drivers are a different boat, so much science and optimization on launch/spin rates pending what you're looking for out of a driver.  

 

When I do get new irons, I always order the same thing, +0.75", standard ping lies, midsize grips.  But the driver I get fit for every time there is something new I want to try.

Self fit for years through trial and error.  Went for a fitting and came out fit for an even stiffer shaft then I thought I could handle.  I'm a high spin high launch player that has been playing X-stiff for years in what I thought was low/low shafts but was then fit into the TT DG TI X7's/ PX LS 7.0.  Spin rates came down and peak height came down which is only going to help with distance control for me.

The other challenge is, just because a shaft performs well in the 7 or 6i doesn’t mean you wedges will perform. 
 

If you need help on the log irons getting some height, you might end up hitting your short irons too high. This kills accuracy in the most important irons. 
 

so how do you fit someone into DG AMT shafts when they are hitting one shaft, but the whole set is different or even KBS tour FLT. 
 

the reality is we deserve more. For what OEMs are charging for clubs, they should provide multiple irons across the sets Although this causes problems like carrying multiple shafts lengths…. We deserve more.

 

also, i have always had problems hitting balls at CC….. they don’t tell you their adapter add 3g to the head weight towards the heal. This affect CG, pulling towards the heal  and increases SW by 1.5 pts.
