The chip in the youtube video was actually for bogey.  I was referring to her second shot not on the highlights.

Her tee shot landed a little further down that hill between the green and bunker.  Admittedly the lie was not the greatest but she completely fluffed it and the ball barely moved from the spot.  It looked more like a practice swing that accidentally touched the ball.  Her 3rd shot landed on the spot on the youtube video.  That's how she ended up with a 6.

thanks ... i was relying on the Highlights and didn't see it 'Live'

It's also kinda funny where it is. Literally just tucked away in our little middle class suburb up here. Very unassuming area.

While that's true now when Shadow Creek was originally built in 1989 there was nothing surrounding the course but dust and desert.

Ya know what, I didn’t know it was that old!

Honestly thought it was built more in the mid 90s for some reason. Not that there was more here then than the 80s.

Looks like all the top seeds 💥 💥 💥

Hye Jin and Furue the "forgotten" rookies amidst the Jeeno hype advance and have been playing strong.

Tiffany Chan goes 3-0! (Who saw that coming??)

Vu and Corpuz advance easily.

Annie steamrolled Delacour today. Tough matchup vs local Jenny Shin tomorrow.

Tiffany Chan making the most of her sponsors invite.

And now Gemma Dryburgh beats Gabby Lopez in the playoff to advance.  She only found out she was in last minute when Anna Nordquist dropped out.

Upsets everywhere 🤣

Yep I think Sagstrom may be the only top seed to win her group ??  She's been on fire this season.

Glad Andrea won her match, that was the toughest group I thought. Seems all the matches came down to the end!

Damn! For some reason, I was really rooting to Kelly Tan. I love her swing. Some bad course management choices.

Looks like it. Disagree with some here - I really like that course - interesting and challenging to say the least. Though some of the pin placements were almost cruel.

And I do really question a match play tourney the week before the US Women's Open. But the weekend will be kind of exciting. One spot left in the Open, and four players with the chance to claim it.

What the LPGA did was sort of odd, but still, I'll mostly be watching it this weekend - for some reason, even though there are good golfers at Schwab, it is boring the living bejeebers out of me. (And apparently everyone else - after two full days, the Schwab thread is still less than two full pages.)

The collective opinion of WRX seems to be similar to that Jennifer Aniston movie ... "He's just not that into you". 😅

Schwab is boring, there's no real challenging holes, just hit the fairway and you'll have a chance to putt. I'll be invested a bit, I placed a bet on Hossler 🤞

I like the way this tournament shaped up, most of the group winners have been playing well all season and can get a life changing win this weekend.  Especially the younger players who got stuck on the Epson Tour bc of Covid.

I know it's probably just me, but it sure seems like some of the top players were simply phoning this one in. Play three practice rounds for the USWO, and then get out of Dodge.

No I thought the same thing but on the plus side if you did play this week, the rough around the greens looks like it Major tier, so should help you with the US Open.  Next week seems like a 2nd shot course, big fairways with tricky greens, so having a feel for around the greens (from this week) could save a shot or two next week

I really dig 17. Well, really dig watching it - it would be almost frightening to step up to the tee and actually have to try to play it. The precision it demands is is a serious test. Especially with everything on the line - any match that makes it there is nail-bitingly (if that's a word) close.

Agree with you - the course itself is good major prep (not to mention the fact that it is drop dead gorgeous - if you didn't know and had to guess, no one would think it was in the freaking desert). I just question why they'd do a match play the week before a stroke play major. The mentality of the two are soooo different. Have to switch the brain's dial to a different frequency to do match play. Would have liked to see this tourney played there, but played as stroke play (not sure why I think this, but I suspect more of the top ten would have been there if it was).

I dunno. I would think match play on a tough course wouid be good prep for a USWO. I think one of the players (Ally or Minjee?) said, you have to be able to get beat up on a hole, and quickly put it behind you. The USWO players will have their share of bogie holes.

Sagstrom will be tough to beat.  She is still undefeated right now and finished off Emma Talley early so she can get some rest before the afternoon match while the others are still sweating it out on the course.

Bummer no way to watch right now, just gotta refresh the leaderboard  Annie was down 5 with 10 to play and cut it to 1 before losing on 17. Bummer.

Guess I'm rooting for Andrea Lee and/or Lilia Vu now!

Mo or Gemma will be quite exhausted for sure.

Even though I picked Sagstrom to win this year, I am kinda rooting for Andrea Lee also.

Edit: 🥴 I retract my earlier statement about Sagstrom.  Maybe she got a little too much rest after her morning round.  She is already down 4 thru 6 holes.  Gonna be tough to overcome 🤣

I must say I'm a bit confused reading this thread.  One the one hand, there are concerns about this tournament's timing, location for time of year, and the strength, or lack of, field.

But then there are posters that will say since the new commissioner took over everything is rainbows and lollipops for the LPGA.

Which one is true?  Please help.

Well, to be fair, the tournament was on the schedule last year in the same spot, the week before the USWO. Not sure how difficult it is to move an event, especially one on such a high profile course, but I'm guessing they're stuck with it in the slot. Blame Mike? Lol.

Becoming a big Andrea Lee fan, she's impressive.

Jodi Hyphen is on some kind of heater this week.

Jodi has always been an excellent ballstriker. She's currently the 3rd best without a win. Her putter has always been suspect. If it heats up she can be dangerous. However, it's prone to becoming balky under pressure.
