Grips make a difference to you?

All of my clubs with the exception of the putter have the same grips (Winn DriTacs).  They are very grippy in all weather and feel very comfortable to me.  I know they get knocked because of durability concerns but I have not had any issues yet.

same and agree.. they last a season or two for me

Irons, wedges and hybrids I prefer the same grips (Winn DriTac midsize).

Fairways and drivers, I often keep the stock grips with alignment aids. Then, I may switch long clubs to primary grips  in follow-on season.

Separate question: How much of a difference do standard vs midsize - or like a plus4 - make for you or is it basically all the same to you?

image.png.8908553ae1d633d2d4c63b4055b68b2d.pngI've been playing Midsize for quite awhile. I am right on the line between recommended Standard and Midsize. The midsize just fits the hand better, makes for smoother grip pressure from not having to hold onto a "pencil."

And, not all midsize are created equal. Circa 2020, decided to go "real midsize" and went to GP CP2 Wrap which has less low-hand taper. A bit too thick, I had trouble getting through ball and was leaving shots - especially irons - out to right. Switched back to DriTac.

P.S. CP2 Wraps are solid, well-made grips - just not for me!

Also, golf glove can be an influence. For several seasons I used the Bionic StableGrip (thicker ridging around fingers, heavier pad in palm). This year I'm using lightweight leather gloves which I got from a boutique manufacturer at StL Golf Expo. Total cost: $28 for four. These seem to be OK, and feel better on long clubs. Grip pressure is more even.

Jumbo Max size large on everything in the bag except putter.  Absolutely changed my game.  I wore an XXL glove but since I went to these grips I no longer need to wear a glove.

Same.  Jumbomax large on everything and will never go back.  I still wear a glove, but that is probably habit and not truly necessary.

Tried a bunch of combos over the years and always come back to Midsize grips.  Recently, I have preferred Z Cord Midsize but harder to find them right now so experimented on other midsize (shocker lol)

I stopped with the glove a few weeks ago.  I was at the range, hit a large bucket and was heading to the putting green when I reached over to take my glove off and found I never put it on!!  Old age!!  I found I have more feel and need less grip pressure without it.  I live in Florida and even with the humidity I haven't needed a glove.  We'll see what happens when the humidity goes through the roof.

For those considering JumboMax be aware that their size small is 1/8" larger than other oversize grips. I tried a medium, backed off to small, and I have XL glove size.

Driver/4W/3H all have MCC Align +4 on them. Irons/wedges all have Tour Velvets on them.

In years past I've put the +4 on my wedges to help eliminate getting too wristy, chipping game is severely suffering without them, gonna go back to them.

I imagine most Japanese branded grips come from the same places that most American branded grips come from: China, Taiwan and Thailand.

Grips need to match all the way through the bag.  I'll even go as far as regripping a brand new club if my exact spec isn't an option for whatever reason.

My preferences change over time. I played with JumboMax and Winn Oversize grips for awhile. They helped my swing as I used to flip at it. When I no longer needed it i went down to a midsize Winn Dri Tac for the past year. It's time for new grips now and I'm going with Lamkin Crossline Cords this time. All 13 clubs match.

Make a huge difference to me.

Grips clubs differently through the set. Want firm grips on long clubs, softer on irons, larger on wedges (as they are really more about feel than distance). So:

D/FWs/Hybrid - Lamkin Sonar+ Regular, 3 wraps

Irons - Winn DriTac Regular, 3 wraps

Wedges - Winn DriTac 2.0 Medium

Ptter - Lamkin Sinkfit Pistol Polyurethane

The three wraps on the woods/irons put them about halfway between a regular and a medium. Went to a full medium on the wedges.

Parenthetically, I've never really liked cords. And while I have certainly tried jumbo grips, they just felt unnatural.

Ultimately I’m not sure it matters to me. I have MCC+4 in standard and midsize, Winn grips on some irons, Ping wedge grips on my Ping wedges and a couple of OEM grips.

That being said, the iron set (New Level 623CB) I ordered last night was all standard MCC+4. Maybe I can drop five strokes with consistent grips across the bag.  😬

I'm a 100% feel player and grips make a huge difference.  I played Tour Velvet Full Cord standard for 30 years.  Tried MCC+4s and liked them.  Older now, went to graphite shafts and fought a long and left miss.  Decided to go softer and larger and went to Tour Velvet with 3 extra wraps bottom hand, 2 extra top.  I love this setup - cured my bad long/left miss.  Considering going back to something standard and harder for wedges, though, for feel.  I do generally keep the stock grip on a new club for a while to see if it's going to stick - have a new MIzuno STZ 3-wood that came with a Lamkin ST+2 Hybrid and I'm liking that grip.

If I re-grip a club I prefer midsized... but if it ain't broke, I don't fix it. I think midsize can help consistency.

Currently using: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VG774WZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

Cheap and I looove them. Champkey lol.

My irons and driver are standard sized.

My driver is working so I'm afraid to mess it up. But as soon as I have issues I'll change to a midsize.

My irons... I'm close to regripping to midsize because I turn them over too much at times.

My wedges were midsized but my new wedges came with standard grips and they are working great, so I won't change yet.

I'm not too picky, and I don't adjust for the swing weight change. Grips just change the SW # but not the head feel for me.

I recently got a new shaft in my new hybrid and it came with a Plus4 ALIGN grip. I just couldn't get used to it. I wanted it to be good with all the special features, but it just felt weird and I was hitting an unwanted fade with it.

I now have TV 360s from 4H through SW and I like it that way. My lob wedge has a custom Vokey grip on it, which is perfectly fine - GP New Decade MCC.

My fairway woods have different Lamkins on them and my driver has a GP Z Grip Cord that's great. Not an issue now, so might eventually get the same grip on the woods.
