How do you order a custom driver (tsi2) that fits your eye? For the discriminating buyer.

So,   After a Titleist fitting I think I have the loft and shaft figured out… done right?   Nope not for me and here is why.    So, for me I always want the most open headed driver or one that visually has the best appearance at address.    If you put 5 drivers in front of me ( same loft/same make) I am pretty confident that I could pick one that “sits better” at least for me.    I dont think this is uncommon for any golfer.     So, when I order a driver rather then buy off the shelf with my specs , length, head weight etc I basically lose the ability to “pick” a head that suits my eye the best.     So, any suggestions or does anybody else feel the same way when they custom order a driver?   I know tolerances are much better then they use to be however I still feel there are subtle differences.       I even considered ordering an 11 degree head just to have the ability to loft down to get that “open” headed look but my preference is to find that in the right 10 degree head.     What sort of screws me up a bit is that Titleist has moved to 9,10,11 degree heads.   In the past the 10.5 head was money for me and allowed me to loft down.      I’ dont launch it particularly high so that’s why I am struggling with the 10 degree head if not sitting perfect.       Anybody order a 10 that looked “closed”.   Trying not to overthink this…. Order from a company like The Tour Van (that's the name of the company, not an actual tour van). They will let you pick a specific head with exact measured specs. Like they will tell you that one head is 2 degrees open, the other is 1 degree open, what the actual measured loft is, etc.

do you have to get fitted by them? i didn’t see any options for buying clubs on their site.

Anyone know if there is an option like the Tour Van in Ontario?  Any other suggestions?  Thanks in advance…

No, don't have to get fitted by them. You can reach out to them and tell them what type of head specs you are looking for and they will sell you a head only (for drivers at least). The only downside, if you consider it a downside, is that you pay full retail for the driver but are getting just the head, no shaft.

Not sure, but maybe you could ask TXG if they could do this for you?

Just buy the shaft and go to a box store/pro shop and stick in a handfull of heads and buy the club that fits your eye.…

If you have a higher end shop near you, it is possible to bend the metalwoods to match specs. Would not recommend anything too extreme, maybe only a degree change or so though.

For Canada, another vote for TXG. They have talked about making custom driver head orders.

There was a time when I couldn't hit driver unless it sat nice and open when placed on the ground. It cut my selection of clubheads down considerably. Then I decided to start hovering my driver and now I can play anything on the market.
