Which current golfer with zero or multiple majors currently, would have their career changed most by winning a/another major?

Basically, going from zero majors to one major is a huge leap, so is from say two to three, or four to five.

So, essentially, if someone in ether of those categories was able to get another one, whose career would change the most. I'd include one time major winners, but I think that's a little obvious/would be the answer (meaning, Patrick Reed, Lucas Glover, Webb Simpson would all probably be considered different classes of golfers if they got to two).

If I could pick the major, I'd say if Rory or Spieth completed the grand slam.

One more, could be random, I'd say ether Phil (or Faldo though not current) because they would get him to 7, tied with Arnold Palmer. I'd also throw in Bubba Watson getting to three, namely because he was around a lot of majors, and winning a third would be a bigger boost to him. (I guess its funny in my head, I don't think about DJ or Brooks in the same way)

Guys without one, currently I'd say maybe Cam Smith or deep reach is Paul Casey. (Would say Hovland but I think he needs a couple more wins first).

🤣

Puts him at 83 wins and 16 majors.

Hard for there not to be unanimous agreement on GOAT status.

True, I guess my point was more (should have stated), who does it do more for. Meaning, Tiger's 16th major would bring him more clout, but he's considered by many the greatest golfer ever, so unless he gets to 18/19, 16 and 17 don't move the needle as much to me as say JT getting to 3.

Hmmm, I would go with Harrington(although now on Champions Tour), Spieth and Koepka.  Guys that won their majors in a very short timeframe but none since.

Only five have won all 4 majors: Nicklaus, Woods, Hogan, Player and Sarazen.

Of the active players, Rory hasn't won the Masters. Mickelson hasn't won the U.S. Open. And Spieth needs a PGA win to get there.

Of the guys no longer playing/alive, there are too many to mention in detail but among them are Palmer, Trevino, Snead, and Floyd.

You could make the argument that these already incredibly successful golfers would be bumped up a notch legacy-wise were they to complete the career grand slam.

My dawg Max Homa. Two wins already this season - granted, not against the toughest fields but a win's a win - but not the greatest performance in majors so far.

He gets that one major though; he just might break into that elite status.

With all that’s going on, I lean towards Phil, cause I don’t think him just playing again gets him out of hole he has dug for himself.

Outside of Phil, I will go with Rahm.  However I do think if Max Homa wins a major it would catapult him to the next level.

Fowler.

This is a good one. I think his golden days are far from over.

Personally, I think you could come up with a lot of guys for this. Finau, Cam Smith, even Zalatoris. The latter of which is seemingly on his way to pulling one out. I'll also throw in Kokrak. Simply because it'd be cool to know, and have played with a future Major winner when I was growing up.

Fowler was top ten, very popular with fans, popular with Madison Ave, was a ''bro'' with fellow peers and they go vote him most overrated. He won The Player's after that, but to this day it must eat at him that with all that going on, he won that honor. A major win would be redeeming on so many levels.

Never been so far from one. He is barely in the top 100 and not really going anywhere, but still gets the media coverage and attention of a top 20. If he wasn't stereotyped as an American jock you wouldn't hear about him.

Tiger Woods....as of now very few if any think he can win again let alone a major.....BUT if he were somehow able to have the stars align just one more time, have Father Time stop and Mother Nature be kind along with  a heap of Divine Intervention, the sporting world would have a story for the Ages (sorry for the JN reference)

Sometimes the answer is so obvious you can't even see it.

Absolutely Tiger

Although for impact on an individual level I'd say someone like Matt Every.

Who?

Exactly.
