Travelling from Destin Fl to Orlando in March 2023

We are driving from Destin to Orlando in March 2023. We are from Scotland and this is part of a bigger road trip starting in Houston TX. We are looking for somewhere to break our journey around halfway and play golf. Would really appreciate any advice or recommendations?

you looking for hidden gems?  In tallahassee, there's capital city.  From there go to gainesville and play the Mark Bostick Golf Course.  As you head to Ocala, there's also juliette Falls.  If I had to rank by conditions:

 

1.  Mark Bostick (make a phone call and tell them you're alums in town looking for a quick round)
2. Juliette Falls (public)

3.  Capital City CC (public)

In all honesty, I’d just make the drive straight. There’s nothing in between those two that are must stop courses IMO. Only thing would be maybe Mission Inn in Howie in the Hills but that’s on the edge of Orlando.

Tallahassee is the most logical stop. 4 hours from Orlando, 3 hours to Destin. The drive sucks so Id make the stop. Never played golf in Tally but Capital City is the course Ive heard of.

 

You could drive from Destin to Jacksonville ... maybe 4-4.5 hours and then drive down to Orlando in 2 hours from there.

Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto. The quarry course is in the top 100 public tracks. 
 

not sure if they will still be open but World Woods could be on that route. 
 

The conditions can be hit and Miss but St James Bay in the panhandle along hwy 98 is an incredible track and inexpensive. They recently dumped some money into rehab but I haven’t been since. I will likely play there soon and will update this thread.  It was built in a community that lulled during the 2008 housing bust, but may be getting a new injection given the housing market now.
