Yeah it seems like a 2nd shot course though.  You wanna put it on the proper spots on the greens.  The contours from the videos, you don't wanna be near the edges of the  greens or your ball won't stay there lol

Unless they move the tee box forward.. I don't think many will make to the green on their second shot..

Rooting for Hae Ran Ryu of KLPGA to have a good week:

She is my pick to win

I would be stalking the Annie - Vu - Corpuz group if I were in attendance. Hopefully they all make the cut ! Although Vu may be burned out from playing max golf this weekend and Annie has never had success at the US Open, but she looks to be in top form this season recovering from injuries and seems passionate about golf again for the first time in a long time.  I guess a round 16 finish this weekend did not boost her globe ranking as she slid down 2 spots to 48 😔

Well this week could mark a very "sombre" moment as this is the last year of Na Yeon Choi's exemption into the US Women's Open.  The 2012 champion burst on the scene and played some fantastic golf with a swing that was described by Brandel Chamblee as being one of the best in the game.  For NYC, she was playing when Yani was still world No.1 -- which she would hold onto into 2013.   She has been troubled by a persistent back & shoulder injuries.  Off the course she was taking up turns providing expert analysis to Korean TV.  On the course, she struggled to stay relevant as the Korean women's game continued its explosive growth with Inbee, So Yeon Ryu, then along with Sei Young Kim, Ha Na Jang, and In Gee . . . followed by Sung Hyun Park, Hyoo Joo Kim, and then Jin Young.    She has found some solalce off the course as she has her partner living with her in Las Vegas and she has been accompanying her onn tour this year so far.

In 2010 she won both the Vare Trophy and the Money List.  She is a 9-time LPGA winner and 8-time winner on the KLPGA.

These long term exemptions are ridiculous, no free rides, go earn a yearly invite instead.

Does anyone here know? Is there an "alt list" for USWO at this point??

There must be but all I know about it, is I heard mentioned on the broadcast is Gina Kim was 1st alt and would have gotten the spot had not Eun Hee won.  Poor Gina actually Eun Hee winning was the only player in the Semis would have taken her spot.

Scroll down and there's 2 vids, holes 1-9 and 10-18.  They have distances and arrows showing slope on fairways and greens.

Any insights into the criteria / how the players eligibility for USWO has been determined?

e.g. i see Muni He in the field (Muni He = #139 i.e. Category#11 in the latest LPGA Priority List May2022 first reshuffle) ...
vs Kelly Tan (Not at the USWO ... even though Kelly = #111 i.e. Category#8 i.e. 3 priority categories ahead of Muni He ... noted that the heading of the "Field List" states the Top80 = exempt.

Just via a quick 'eyeball test' ... i  see Paula Reto = is included in the USWO Field List ...

i.e. perhaps Kelly Tan is one of the first alternates?).

Not sure how the whole list works but Paula and Muni got in through the various qualifying events.

@JungleJimbo the LPGA priority list does not apply to the USGA. Su Oh still needed to qualify and missed out.

Only tournament winners the prior calendar year, major winners X amount of years, top 75 in Rolex, and top 30 previous CME globe are on the exempt for the US Open, as far as the pros go at least.  Otherwise you need to go to the many qualifying sites which is why you see Epson Tour players like Dottie Ardina and Grace Kim in the field and LPGA players like Andrea Lee and Annie Park et others qualifying through these sites as well.  The alternates would be filled from the qualifying sites too and not the rankings.

thanks @HankScorpio and @woahnelly
