I don't disagree though that it's a waste of money and ugly as hell though. But I'm a classic Rolex Datejust type of guy. 

You folks do realize Bubba doesn’t buy the watch he receives it as part of his arrangement as a company rep. Like most of you, I don’t care for it, I prefer a Rolex Submariner.

Makes no sense for some criminal to jack a $1M watch from someone. What the hell would they do with it? Pawn it? Flip it on eBay? Then again, most criminals don't have a whole lot of sense.

I don't like Bubbas version in particular but they make nice timepieces and being that they are limited edition and a tourbillon movement will mean that they are collectable.  The US dollar is so diluted that rich people look to protect their money against inflation by buying collectable and desirable things and this would be no different.  The people buying these timepieces are actually smarter than they will get credit for because they are not buying a depreciating asset as these types of timepieces are very likely to at least hold their value, if not appreciate, so they are not buying a watch, they are investing in a timepiece which is very different. Bubba, Rafa, and Korda etc. get paid to wear nice stuff...just winning all around!!

Not a big RM fan but I can appreciate the engineering and the materials that go into their timepieces. I'm partial to classic styling. Between my wife and I, we've been fortunate enough to acquire Rolex, Omega, Patek and Cartier in our collection.

Managed to pick up 2 before they sold out. 

 

Will be listed on BST once they arrive.  $2.2 milli/each.  No negative comments about the pricing will be tolerated (by the wrx sheriffs; I would personally just laugh and hit the like button).

Two things:

 

1) Old, I can be cranky when confronted with rude behavior like "hand over the watch, pops." Been hit in the head enough when young playing football and later after marrying learning my place.

 

2) It would detract from my $40-on-sale loafers that I think look very cool.

Not a fan, but the somewhat outlandish apparel is part of his brand.  Makes sense I guess.  Maybe if I had the money for one or was being given one, I'd have a different opinion🤷‍♂️

He was obviously paid to wear it. Would I wear a Richard Mille if someone paid me to? Obviously. 
 

I don’t really see any athlete choosing their clothing/accessories because they like the aesthetic, but rather because that’s where they got the best deal. 
 

Tom Brady used to wear Tag now he wears IWC. Maybe in five years he will be wearing Richard Mille or a g-shock.
