The area makes perfect sense.  There will be 10-14k employees and families there.

Agreed, I just meant that exact location is already taken. There is still some land owned by the state further west that may or may not be available.

My mistake. It isn't directly next to the TSMC plant. The development was a gigamonsterous plan made last year. The TSMC plant will have about 1,600 employees total, not 10k+. TSMC is moving toward the engineering, admin and non-floor people working remotely.

 

The housing development project is barely moving now. There are many other housing developments that started clearing, but infrastructure work on them has mostly stopped also.

 

My anecdotal story is that houses in my area (Scottsdale) were being bought up by equity funds sight unseen at 1.2 asking price. That’s stopped. I have houses going up for sale in my street that aren’t moving now.

 

Water is likely to be a big deal here soon for new developments.

It will be close to 10k - I handle part of the account.  You have to know that they will have vendors, FSEs, contract and sustaining infrastructure.   May change with the downturn...but that was the latest stated.

@ebrasmus21did you make the plunge and move to Scottsdale? If yes how are you liking it? I have a potential opportunity to do the same. Have you visited any of the clubs listed? Ideally I would like a family friendly club with a decent amount of younger members.

I’m a certified desert rat now.  I’m loving it thus far and monsoon season has been pretty fun.  
 

At this point I haven’t visited any of the listed clubs but once I have I’d be more than happy to chat.

Good to hear. We are still prospecting, but yeah on paper it seems great. Likely will come and check the area over the next couple months and go from there.
