Finally GC has started the coverage.  Not sure why the delay.  Nice to see Brooke finish with a bogey free round.   Positive signs, but of course, it's only round 1 and plenty of golf to be played.

Whilst I am a regular complainer of the constant coverage focus on Brittany's caddie interaction with Brooke, my issue is about the coverage's focus not on B&B doing their thing instead of covering player's hitting shots/stroking putts.

 

Various sports in geographies seem to be increasing focus on the peripheral elements such as umpiring (Aussie Rules in Australia) & VAR (Football/Soccer in the English Premier League). I watch those sports to watch the sport, not the supporting elements. I'm not interested in caddies, cleaning shoes, what they're eating etc etc, just want to see the real action, not coverage filler.

Agree.  Brittany does get alot of coverage.  She is actually more famous than some of the actual players.  There should be a drinking game where every time they mention that she is Brooke's sister, everyone takes a shot.  Would get drunk pretty quick.  🍻

Well last week, many of us would have been hammered every time they mentioned Nelly returning to tour after her blood clot . . . that had to be said like 3-4 times an hour (on multiple channels).   Another was Mina and having only $2 thousand left in her bank account.   🤣🍻

Brooke + Ko dueling it out would be good TV. Also Frida and Steph 2 of the better younger players looking good at the moment and local Marina could get another W this season.

Well, yes - for a professional player that is.  $2000 would not cover very many flights and tournament fees (I am still assuming that they do pay tournament registration fees per event).   Further, too many MC's and then there is very little revenue to offset the expenses!  But, I agree with your point -- lots of people would think having $2,000 is doing okay.

And why would you expect it to be better going forward under the current television contract the LPGA has until 2030 that the LPGA signed off on when the LPGA allowed the PGA Tour to negotiate their next television contract a few years back?
