Loved the Scotty Cameron Phantoms I tested, but ultimately settled on the Toulon Las Vegas. I found that it just barely edged out the Scotty in sound/feel/looks, all of which were still superb on the Scotty. In the end, the Toulon delivered the best Quintic numbers, too.

 

I went into that fitting praying a Scotty would match but the Toulon stole the show. Only regret was not being able to test a Bettinardi Queen Bee.

I’ve been putting with a LAB 2.1 for the last few years and rolled some of the new putters last night. I was really impressed with the new Scotty’s. I’ve played a lot of Scotty’s and after trying out several of the blade models, I really miss the feel and roll of a Scotty.  The LAB is good but it has always lacked feel and a good roll IMO. I just find I have to put a lot of effort in some putts just to get the ball to the hole.  The LAB lie angle balance works, but after messing around with a “normal” putter, I realized how sloppy my stroke has become.

I have bought a new Scotty Cameron putter every year for the past 20 years.  Last summer I picked up a Queen B 5.  It’s the best feeling blade I ever used, and easy to get close to the hole on longer putts.  And dead accurate on short putts.   No more Cameron’s for me!
