Not a good week for Srixon.  First the driver and now the golf ball.  Wonder how his contract is structured?

I'm guessing its a majors only move and we see him back in All-Srixon for normal tourneys

GAMER SETUP:

Callaway AiSmoke TD 3W | Denali Black 6.0 70g

TaylorMade SIM Ti 5W | Tour AD TP 7s

Titleist 48* @ 49* Vokey SM9 | Nippon Modus 120 S +1”

Titleist 54* @ 55* Vokey SM9 | Nippon Modus 120 S +1”

Titleist 58* @ 59* Vokey SM9 | Nippon Modus 120 S +1”

I’m guessing that the ball wasn’t performing the way he wanted so Srixon is probably reworking it.  As for driver I think most Srixon guys have an out in their deal for driver.  Then again maybe the driver is the problem, so he got rid of both for the time being.  Before Srixon I thought he was using a Nike driver.

Driver - Testing in Progress

7W - Taylormade Ti Bubble II

4-5 Hybrids - Cleveland Halo XL (21*, 24*)

7i - GW - Titleist T200 7-GW

GW - Taylormade MG3 52*

SW - Sub70 JB Forged 56*

LW - Sub70 JB Forged 62*

Putter - Sled 01 (for thr moment)

Ball - Srixon Q Star

How’s this for speculation…

He’s going to LIV anyway so he doesn’t give a rip about his Srixon deal.

Yeah, I think that’s his next play too.  I’m sure Srixon didn’t expect that to happen when they signed him.

He may be going to LIV but Srixon is ok with his gear switch this week.

but according to a Cleveland/Srixon rep, the manufacturer has been aware of the situation and temporarily granted Koepka the opportunity to use both pieces of gear at the U.S. Open.

“In this early stage of our partnership, Brooks Koepka has validated the performance of the Srixon driver and golf ball,” a Cleveland/Srixon representative told GOLF.com in a statement. “Though performance has been promising, the characteristics are not a perfect fit, yet.”

Instead of requiring Koepka to use a driver-ball combo that hasn’t been a “perfect fit,” Cleveland/Srixon confirmed they’re shifting the focus to yet-to-be-released products specifically designed for Koepka’s needs

“To work through this adjustment period most efficiently, we decided to focus our energy on fitting Brooks into the next generation Srixon driver and golf ball prototypes that will debut on tour in the near future — products developed with Brooks’ input and needs in mind,” the statement continued. “While we get this organized in the next couple months, Srixon is temporarily allowing Brooks to use his previous driver and ball

The first draft of this release said, “But it’s a great ball for the average schlep, plus right now you can buy 2 and get 1 free!”. But that line was cut from the final copy.

I'm guessing the ball doesn't feel right to him.  Maybe doesn't launch high enough for him as he he switched to the older gen ProV1x which is supposedly similar to the left dash which launches high with lower spin.

He's going to LIV golf especially since DP world tour is now likely to partner with LIV. There is such small performance differences between the top balls. It's not the reason he is missing cuts and not competing. Countless other top players are fine with the srixon balls and/or driver.

The ball and driver isn't going to make up for him not playing tournaments and practicing. He has played what 3-4 tournaments in 6 months?

This guy belongs on the LIV golf tour for sure and I say that as the worst possible insult I can think of.

From his PC yesterday, I'm guessing that may happen soon...

But on the ball, Hideki and Lowry and plenty of others have proven the Srixon ball works just fine.  A lot of guys are just weird about loving Titleist, for whatever reason., and once that gets in their heads it's hard to overcome.

The ball is often the hardest thing to switch when players change equipment.  There is a much longer list of where players have struggled to adapt to a new ball vs. guys like Rham that were successful out of the gate with a new ball.  Bubba is a great example of going off the rails when he switched from a Titleist ball.  Rickie has not had much success with the TM ball.  There is definitely a reason they developed a ball specifically for BK (not paying dividends to date) and Callaway has countless versions of the Chrome ball on tour.

There is also a scenario where you tend to fire a coach, blame equipment, injuries etc.. in lue of looking in the mirror at practice time and dedication to being the best you can be.

Well this hasn't aged well. Why wouldn't you play the ball that goes farther, feels better, spins more, and stops closer to the hole? Because you are being paid millions of dollars not to....

I thought of the exact same commercial! Didn’t post it bcs I assume we all know these commercials and endorsements are based on dollars, not sense! 😂

Wondering when the Mizuno irons will be back, too?

Not sure why everyone dislikes him so much. He wins majors and doesn't really care to pander to the media. Which is fine. He also doesn't like Bryson, which is understandable.

He doesn't really give a toss about the game and just struts about like he's god's gift ffs. He's so egotistical, personally I've never been a fan and the switch to Srixon didn't change my mind.

Its crazy i actually think i like titleist cheaper balls then prov1. I never have a round where im like... man im striking this pro v1 good... but the lesser ones and avx ive noticed are nice for my game. Also... srixon golf balls are amazing. From q star z star soft feel. i like srixon, callaway, titleist, taylormade. Not too crazy about bridgestone.
