Is the hzrds black a handle/tip stiff with mid shaft bend like black Ventus ? Or a soft handle, stiff mid/tip like TR blue.

The Ventus Tr is stiff handled as well. Stiffer than the standard blue.

the haz black is soft handle stiff mid and tip..

I hit and was fit into this yesterday in my TSR fitting and it felt quite nice. I've never played Project X in the woods and am curious as to see what others think of this. It's a stock shaft on the TSR line, and I normally play a butt stiff shaft with stiffer mid and tip section and this seems to fit the profile. There isn't much information on the shaft online, so would love to hear what others think of it.

I have never played a hzrdus shaft before in my driver and have played an Aldila Tour Green for a few years now. But i have never been properly fit for a driver either.

The Titleist rep just fit me for the 6.5 60g Gen 4 HZRDUS Black in a Titleist TSr3 driver. This driver felt amazing, so consistent, even on poor shots (mine is low and on the toe).

This new Gen 4 shaft loaded up really nicely and the ball was so consistent in flight and distance even though i was hitting it low off the face and sometines off the toe.

Not too sure on the TX being available to the public, but I was playing around with build options on a new TSR2 and it looks like the TX verisons are being offered as stock, no up charges.

Can anyone compare this to Ventus blue? If it’s slightly stiffer in the handle it could be money

I can say for me personally, I am the exception as I DID NOT get along with the Ventus Blue at all. I played it in the 6x and it felt like rebar to me. I got the TSR3 with the hzrdus 6.5 stock shaft and its pretty nice. Only played one round with it, but i think its easier to load and has a smoother feel to it to me. I have played it in my driving iron previously and think its a great shaft. Obviously, its all subjective. I typically play the Tour AD XC in a 6x but I needed to get the adapter swapped to a titleist from a taylormade so just played a round with the hzrdus while waiting.

Na. And I have no clue if project X makes better stuff in the tx flexes. I know they used to? I think. I think there is a lot of potential for project x… offering some Random custom stuff/ graphics/ simplifying the product line and the offerings a little. Seems like a lot of potential there.

interesting i like the LZ iron shaft. have you tried the new GEN 4 Black?

@Viper4225 I recently tried the HZRDUS GEN 4 BLACK.  Feels really close to the HZRDUS Smoke RDX BLACK to me.  I love the new HZRDUS logo!  The BLACK series feels little lighter  and stiffer to me for shafts in the same weight class as the BLUE series (they actually are lighter, examples 70TX BLACK is 72g and 70TX BLUE is 75g) .  They both keep the spin and flight down, but the BLACK is a bit more stable throughout.  I would compare the HZRDUS Black feel to Project X (or KBS C-Taper) iron shafts.  FYI - I like TX in BLUE and 6.5 in BLACK.

Love my BLACK in my 7 wood.  Love my BLUE in driver and 3 wood.  The black lets me go at the 7 iron more like an iron and keep stability/flight down even in a 6.5.  I use TX70 BLUE in driver and 3 wood.  Looking forward to the GEN 4 BLUE.

See if we can revive this topic... how is there so little chatter about the new Hzrdus black? Especially when it seems to be so good. I grabbed the 60TX in my TSR3 and I'm really liking it. Don't have any numbers but I am hitting everything out of the middle with it. It's stable, really stable, but definitely has feel. You feel like you can make a less than full swing and it'll load up just fine. Over the past two seasons I've played Ventus Blue 6x (tipped a good bit), Diamana DF, and Diamana TB (both 70tx). Dunno if the Hzrdus will make the cut come springtime but feel like it deserves more attention.

I am sure it’s at least party due to it being a stock option.

surely, the shaft du jour on WRX needs at the very least to be a 200$ upcharge if it’s even a custom option at all.

Has anyone had one one of these split?

I was playing on a Trackman sim the other day, hit a drive, looked down, and a bit towards the bottom near the hosel had split/frayed. Not snapped or anything.

Just wondering if anyone else has had that happen.

Mine was the Black 60 in 6.5 flex.

I loved the shaft up until that point. Have it in the TSR2 3 and 7 woods too.

Lol very true

Guess we've really only had one major OEM driver launch too, and the 1K black seemed like the stock shaft of choice for lower launch for Titleist. PX definitely made a leap forward with the RDX black, I easily could've gamed that shaft. Which is why I took the flyer on this one when I ordered. So far, so good. As a card carrying WRXer I've got a few aftermarket backups 😉

Continue to be really impressed with this shaft. Great feel, really keeps up, offers the feedback I like, and the ball just wants to fly straight or peel to the right a little (I'm a righty).

If anyone has a tip to graphic measurement for this I'd be curious. Titleist didn't list the tipping on my build sheet. Prob means standard but just want to confirm in case I end up getting the same in a 3w.

Project X graphite is so underrated. Consistently good products and a great stock option for a ton of OEMs.

Does anyone with experience with the 60 TX and the 6.5? The torque difference between the 2 shafts are massive and I'm debating between the two.  Also if anyone has experience with both the ventus black 6x and hzrdus gen 4 60 TX would love to know what their experience was like.  Thanks!

I super interested in this question and answer as well. 2.5 Torque screams a pretty stout shaft but the 6.5 non-TX falls all the way to 3.3? I actually ordered the limited edition PVD black and I know 3.3 doesn't hold up to my tempo (notice I didn't say swing speed) but I'm a tad worried 2.5 is too much.

I have been playing HZRDUS shafts since the "Smoke" version released. Currently play the HZRDUS RDX BLUE 70TX in driver, 70TX in 3W and 80TX in 5W. I also able with the HZRDUS RDX BLACK 80 6.5 in a 7W. You can go at a BLACK, but the BLUE requires some smoothness. BLACK absolutely plays stouter & lower torque feel (think 120 and up steel iron shaft). BLACK absolute keeps the spin down.

As far as torque goes, I could never get along with the HZRDUS RDX BLUE 60TX in my driver because the torque felt unstable for me.

I am currently testing the HZRDUS BLACK Gen4 60TX.  Feels alive, but much more stable (especially on less than perfect swings) than the higher torque BLUE 60TX.

Love the simpler Gen4 graphics as well. Things were getting weird with RDX Smoke etc naming...
