Just can’t look at that much loft down by the ball. I’m hitting that higher than my 60*.

I don't mind seeing the loft, but I have yet to see a 9w that has a square face angle on it. Would love to see it at address, behind a ball!

I've actually been playing a Callaway Maverik Max 9-wood, which plays at 23*.  I play it with a 1" shorter length shaft, in a lighter flex.  It's not a club I'm ever trying to hulk smash, and the lighter flex let's me get the head more square on it.  I'm not a big hitter, so my Arccos data shows it fits very nicely in the 170-180yd range.  Which is a great longer Par 3 distance, or a second shot into the green on dogleg Par 4s. 

 

I can even pretend to be Mac Boucher and hit big high slinging fades, that land super soft at say 160yds.  Tee it up 1/2", put a fast slicey swing on it and get it up in the air.

SS looks great, the 9W looks like a hi toe FW wood. Interesting that more pros are going the high FW route though.

Having a fairway wood that can land soft is such a great tool.

 

I play a Mizuno stz 5 wood with an rdx black in it and it backs up when it lands.  I see 180 ball speed out of it but it plays right at 250, one hops and rips back a foot or two.  Easy to work, easy to hit, very forgiving, and a bomber downwind.

 

Cannot recommend a high/high fairway wood enough.

I had this 1.0 grip and it was on the small side. I bet the 2.0 is perfect.

Not surprised, 3 woods have become tee clubs for most of these guys.  A well fit 5 wood won't be too far off yardage wise but has more ultility into greens.
