At this point everyone is copying the Cobra "speedback" design. The TM "inertia generator" that debuted in the SIM and the Cally "Tungsten speed cartridge" in the Rogue ST are the same thing. The TSi2 was not a great looking driver. TSR2 could be a really nice step forward.

TMs “inertia generator” debuted in the 2019 M6 which was released the same year as Cobra’s F9 Speedback. It is also possible to argue that the Ping released a similar concept with the G400 a couple of years prior.

Can’t wait for the TSR4 vs my TSi4.  It’s going ti be a fun shootout!!!

Looks like I may be doing a shootout of my Cally Rogue TS TD-S vs the Titleist TSR4.

And in true WRX fashion may end up with both.

I just started hitting the TSi3 and moved away from the 2022 TM and Cobra drivers.  Should have known as soon as I hit it and liked it that a new model was coming out.  Like washing my car and then rain.  😂

I sold my TS TD-S(never hit it) as soon as I saw the new TSR4. Loving my TSI4 too much to mess with it until the TSR4 comes out and have time this winter on the sims.

It was only logical as weight kept being pushed further back and lower that soles would start to be shaped like this as there is really no other way to do it and maintain a "traditional" driver shape. I'm all for it, anything that can keep weight low and back is good.

I did like it.  But as I think you'll agree - even the TSi3 has a nice muted tone.  And the Tsi3 fairway wood sound like a solid persimmon.  I think my personal favorite tone is somewhere in the middle of a titanium and carbon.  The TSi3 does a great job of this.  No ting.

(PING is clueless and still trying to appeal to the 30 handicap who likes the attention.  Their Pros have the hot glue).

Cheers

Judging sound is so tricky as well because all it takes is a few grams of hotmelt or a softer ball to make a driver sound quite different. Looking forward to hearing it. 👍

My TSi3 (finally) arrives this week. Solid timing, I'm sure I'll compare when these hit retail though. The TSr3 definitely looks like a refined version of it.

I'm happy to see the full scorelines return to the fairways, that had to be driven by Tour feedback.

I got fitted for a TSi3 back in the spring and I almost waited until these came out instead of buying it. These look awesome but the TSi3 is by far my favorite driver I've ever hit so I'm not regretting it at this point. I am curious to see what's changed as I honestly can't imagine it being an improvement for me based on how I'm hitting it.

I just don't see how TSr is going to be any better than TSi in reality. I suppose we're at the point where the manufacturers know that they're marketing to people with clubs 3 or more generations old, not the previous model. These look great, but my TSi isn't going anywhere.

Like a few others mentioned the market of TSI -> TSR upgrades is a relatively small subset of the market.  I'm still playing a TS3 driver and 913F 3 wood. I'm too cheap to upgrade every cycle and after some time comfort builds and it's hard to switch (i know, blasphemous). This refresh definitely has my attention for upgrading though. In the forum population i'm an outlier, but on the greater golfing population i'm in the majority.

This has been the case for 10 years now. Year to year the improvements are usually quite small unless someone previously released a dud. But after 3-6 years you can start to see some additive improvements.

I had the same thing happen to both a TSi2 and TSi3 wood. Both cracked on me and both were less than 3-4 months old.

Yeah, I replaced my M3 with the TSi3 and immediately noticed a big upgrade on forgiveness. However, I remember trying drivers a few years ago and the M3 held up to whatever I tried at the time, so 3-6 years is probably about right.

The TSR3 looks there same but maybe its a bit more forgiving which I'm sure everyone will say. The TSR2 might be a good pick if especially with the rear weight changeable and the TSR4 might be the big hit for Titleist with 2 weights changeable. Interesting as what is up with the face no big improvements

A lot of staff and ambassadors will be seeing them in early August.  So probably not much until then.  I would guess public firings will come within a few weeks after that.  Just a guess.
