Aerodynamics were outsourced.  Also Titleist hired ex Callaway R&D for this driver.  First time they are seeing a real increase in ball speeds as well.

I've Never seen a new release cosmetic wise look so similar to the previous, not that it's a bad thing but I'm wondering if sound would have changed?

Still have my Titleist 975D in a 7.5 degree stiff. It's accuracy is fantastically long and a real wind cheater yet the flight pattern is not too low as I never had an issue with getting the ball up. I know today's marketing hype is to sell oversized , forgiving clubs to the weekend hacker and that's why a 7.5 degree would never be a big seller Still such a great looking long drive with a very slight draw or straight flight pattern.  I use it all the time which proves that a smaller head and a low degree is still accurate and very satisfying for a skilled player.

For whatever it is worth, I was at TPI in October and they were testing this about 20 feet over from me.  They wouldn’t let me look at it, but talked to me about it and they were “excited” about it.  Given how great the TSi are, any incremental improvement gets my money immediately!

Im sure it still is the ATI face. It looks identical to the TSI3. I don't think they would want to mess around with what they have. The ball speed from that face is fantastic!!

This is the best looking "2" driver Titleist has put out imo.  The TSR2 fw also looks really good.  Going to have to be groundbreaking if it's going to knock out the TS2 from my bag.  
 

REALLY interested in seeing the hybrids though.  Any info on when those are coming out?  Are they following the iron releases or woods with hybrids?

It would be awesome if they made a TSr3 7 wood. They made a TSi2 7 wood that is awesome but a tsi/R3 7 would be next level.

The biggest change, based on pictures, seems to be to the 2 fairway wood. Weight moved from back to front and the ARC is reduced or eliminated.

I've talked to Titleist reps and others connected to the company and all of them have said that their Tour staff have been so happy with the looks of their recent irons and woods.  The one common piece of feedback that they get is; "don't screw it up", so I'm not surprised at all that these look strikingly similar to the TSi line.  I don't think there is a whole lot of significant ball speed gains in any driver because of USGA restrictions.  If Titleist can somehow make this line more stable than the TSi line with a slight increase in ball speed, holy S#$%, it will be a home run because the TSi3 is the best driver I've ever played.

 

Compared to ALL other major brands, Titleist is the most traditional, so for those of you wanting matte or carbon fiber, I think you're going to be waiting a long time.

Titleist has always invested a lot of time and $$$ into sound/feel so I would guess that they will sound similar to current offerings or better.

They have been the No. 1 played driver on tour for the past two years, with that kind of success, they weren't going to make any drastic changes to looks/sound etc.   Just doing whatever they can under the hood to get a bit more ball speed.
