What fairway woods are the easiest to elevate?

Ping G425 Max are super easy to elevate. And if you're struggling, you could just go for more loft with whatever model you do get along with. Play a 5 wood and a 7 or 9 wood, instead of a 3 and 5 wood, for example. You can always put a 3W-length shaft in a 5W, and so on, so that you're adding loft without losing speed into the ball.

Head design/loft are the biggest factors.

For Callaway, the SubZero, and subsequent ST LS (low spin) heads with more forward Center of Gravity will launch the ball somewhat lower. This prevents the ball from ballooning for players with very high clubhead speed.

The standard and D (draw) models had a  more rearward CoG to increase spin to help players with mid clubhead speed to get the ball launched.

The Rogue ST Max D fairway woods have a bit of extra loft: 3W = 16* / 5W = 19* / 7w = 22*.

=================

For Ping, you see similar patterns for the SFT variants in the G410 and G425 fairways. 3W = 16* / 5W = 19* / 7w = 22*. Base lofts 1.5* higher than the Max and LST.

Lofts are lower for the MAX (3W = 14.5* / 5W = 17.5* / 7w = 20.5* / 9W =  23.5*) and low-spin LST. The LST has a 14.5* 3W only, designed to get lower trajectory and more yardage for faster swingspeeds.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some people play 4W + 7W or 5W + 7W to help launch.

Also, shaft can help fine-tune the ball flight. Shafts with lower kickpoint will help get the ball launched better.

This… need to hit it higher, go with more loft. More loft=more spin. Also any head design with the weight in the rear and bottom!

Any of the modern PINGs are a good litmus test for elevation. If you can't get those off the ground then you know the problem ain't the club.

does this apply to the LST too?

It does, because even PING's LST models, fairways and drivers, are only "low spin" in relation to their own product line, not the market at large. Yes the Max models will launch higher, but the overall design is still shallow faced, which makes for easier launch, as well as higher MOI. Their LST models will generally have a more forward CG than their Max models, but that often still places them in a higher MOI backet than most other companies because of how high the Max models tend to be.

Most modern fairways are designed low spin, and can be difficult for the average/slower swing speed players to elevate. Simple solution can simply go old school. So many choices, ie: TM Burners as an example. They spun much more and and were pretty easy to hit from the turf and you save a few bucks too. Whatever gets the job done.

I do agree with the shallower head/Ping, but swing speed is the biggest factor in what loft you should/can use. Everything after that is more technique than equipment.

Modern Pings are almost always the answer here.  With some caveats.

If your swing speed with a driver is less than 110(give or take some here) you shouldn't play a three more than likely, go to a 4 wood with 16.5 of loft, and then your next club is probably a 7 wood.  You will hit it higher and more than likely farther total distance.  This is extremely true for folks who have trouble elevating fairway woods in the first place.  Folks who swing lower speeds but can elevate any fairway are fine with 15* 3 woods quite often.

When going through my wrist surgery my swing speed slowed down and I also developed a fault that caused low flight fairway woods.  For two years I played a 16.5 four wood until I got rid of the fault and my swing speed got back to where it belonged.  I tried Ping fairways and piles of others and in the end when my swing slowed down and  my fault I always hit the 4 wood more solidly and higher which equated to about 12-15 yards more distance with the four wood.

Try a shaft that's one flex softer than your driver and/or one with more kick to it.

Great advice, I play a shaft that is in-between S & R in my fairways and the combo works very well. It forces me to swing within myself with the fairways instead of just hammering them for max distance. Driver SS ranges from 105 ~ 110 mph depending on how aggressive I am feeling on the day.

Hit both Rouge ST LS and Max today. Both are easy to elevate. The max more so in the 15* head. in the 16.5* head they both launched plenty for me

Any modern heads will get the ball in the air. Setup, technique and correct shaft will always do the trick.

^^^ THIS ^^^

Recently put a Callaway Apex UW 17* in the bag and that thing is mega easy to launch and flies forever.  I'd say if you're looking for something easier to launch I would try out the Apex UW.

Everyone would be FAR better off if the whole 3w, 4w, 5w, etc. were just forgotten and we all just got the loft that worked best for us. FW club length should be based on the lie angle of the clubhead and how it relates to the golfer. My longest FW is set at 14.5° and is 43". My second one is set at 18° and is 42.5". One is for max distance off the deck and the other is for higher flight and softer landings. They are about 20yds difference in carry. Dr SS is 110+/-.

Funny you should mention this as I demoed a Stealth 3HL (16.5) with a senior shaft. I am actually considering buying it as it was so much fun to hit. It was high, and straight even off a skinny lie. I was concerned that it would be a hook machine but it wasn’t. This is 2 flex softer as I play stiff in my driver. It actually reminded me of hitting a Autoflex shaft as smooth and steady is what you want. Don’t let your ego decide what you are going to play. At the end of the day, no one really cares what you play. Play what works.

I tried this today. My fitter recommended going xstiff in the Tensei blue just to tighten things up. The stuff was also just fine but a little less consistent. Coming from a Ventus black 6x in driver.
