Williamsburg trip in August

Hey everyone,

 

I've decided to take a trip to Williamsburg in August (8th-9th or 10th). I have the teetime golf pass so the 3 course options are Royal New Kent, Club at Vinaterra, and Brickshire. If I only do the 8th and 9th Ill probably have to leave out one of the courses. Which course should I skip if I have to? Is it worth the extra hotel/Airbnb night and day off work to make sure I play all 3? They all look like fantastic and challenging courses, which one is the most forgiving? I'll probably play that day 1 since it'll be right after a 3 hour drive.

 

***Other course options include Williamsburg National (both courses), Golden Horseshoe Green Course, and Colonial Heritage

 

It's looking like none of my golf buddies will be able to make the trip, if anyone wants to meet up for a couple rounds those days just let me know. (17 handicap)

Royal New Kent and Brickshire and less than 2 miles from each other.  Of the three you listed, I'd skip Viniterra.  

 

You should look at Ford's Colony as well.  The Blackheath course is very good and was in great shape earlier this month.  

 

The must play is Royal New Kent without question.

Of the 3 you listed I'd play Royal New Kent and Viniterra. It looks like the Gold course at Golden Horseshoe isn't an option for you but that would be my 2nd must play behind RNK.

Williamsburg has a lot of quality golf available.  Hard to go wrong. My experience there is that the hot weather (August) tends to bring out the horseflies.  If you can't jiggle your schedule then seek out the best bug repellant available.  Otherwise only wear long pants as they seem to go for the ankle area.  Pesky bast*rds that can ruin your round.

Played Royal New Kent today and was one of the most fun rounds I’ve ever played. As close to euro-links style as you can get in the states. I was blown away.
