I prefer a nice German pilsner (yes I know a pilsner is a lager).  Every once in awhile a Space Dust or Mac and Jacks but mostly pils.

I've been trying to perfect a home brew pils for a few years now and have finally nailed it.  It's not the easiest beer to get right.

Yeah, I really need to get brewing again. It's been ~2 years since my last batch.

Good work on perfecting a pils. It's a heck of a hard beer to master.

While I love drinking beer, I know little about making it.  But I'm told ales (ie..IPA) are much easier to make than lagers because they don't have to be kept cold during the brewing process...a big reason that IPAs dominate the craft beer world.

The high alcohol content seems to appeal to many too...

Lagers aren't necessarily "harder" because they need to ferment cold, brewers just need the right equipment. Honestly most homebrewers eventually move to temp-controlled fermentation chambers if they stick with it a while, and then moving to lagers isn't hard at all. The other aspect of it is that lagers require a lot more yeast to start with, so you either need the ability to make a large yeast starter (equipment) or you need multiple packs of dry yeast (cost) to make a good lager.

The big reason that a lot of American style ales (especially IPAs) are "easier" to make than your typical crisp German lagers is simply that being more flavorful beers, there is more flavor to hide flaws. If you brew a 7% IPA with 80 IBU and a bunch of dry-hopping, all that flavor can cover up mistakes you make brewing. Try to brew a 4.5% German Pilsner, or something with even less hops like a Helles, and literally there's nothing for flaws to hide behind.

One of the toughest beers to brew, in fact, is the American Light Lager. While I basically don't drink them, I give credit to those brewers on a technical level. When your beer is sex in a canoe (aka $^*@#&% close to water), it needs to be perfect from a process standpoint or all you'll taste is the flaw. I've known homebrewers who have brewed light lagers simply to show they're good enough to do it.

You guys makin beer? 😃

I no drink to much anymore but I’ve always like stout.

Used to just go with Guinness but these new nitrous stout are awesome! They like rich and delicious but good bite.

Can you make those?

Or I just go with Heineken light. Is like 3% alcohol so you drink a few and is like nothing,

I brew a milk stout loosely inspired by Left Hand's version... Which is to say that I liked milk stout, couldn't get Left Hand back in 2007 when I moved from GA to CA, and so I created my own recipe with a lot of tweaks. Won the stout category in my region in the 2008 Sam Adams Longshot competition and advanced to the 2nd round of the National Homebrew Competition in the stout category that same year. Good beer 😉

Nitro is possible on the homebrew level, but you need a different type of gas known as "beer gas" instead of CO2. It's a 75/25 mix of nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Also requires a special faucet as you need to run higher pressure with that gas mix, so you need a faucet designed to restrict flow. Use that in a kegerator, and keg your beer instead of bottling, and you can make nitro beers. I personally have never made that investment--my kegerator is just standard CO2. But there's nothing complicated about making them, it's just a money/equipment change.

Really like the interviews of players at this tournament, they sound glad to be there and are hard working guys. Bad memory here, but I think it was Scott Stallings who said he's been on the road for 14 weeks and if he qualified for the Open he'd find a way to get there. Much better than the guys that reek of entitlement who think its a crime if they have to play 2 weeks in a row.
