Not one bit, but this thread is more suited for those of us that have been PGA Tour supporters for a long time and did enjoy much of the great golf action this week from the John Deere. Grab a drink and celebrate with us the youngster from Hickory, North Carolina  second TOUR win. It was some wire to wire dominance being demonstrated for FOUR straight days by JT Poston.  Oh and half the field left Illinois without a paycheck after two days of battling this week on the PGA Tour. No show up and cash in nonsense in Corn Country No Sir! Heck the winner even shared with us his cute petite blonde fiancee when he was on stage.

I feel the other brand of golf that was available this weekend is a clown filled circus by comparison. 

 

 

Don't leave out the solid golf played by Catlin Meronk and Fox at the Irish Open.....it really was captivating!!

Funny play there blade!  😁    I have to give him his props though as I find Dill Pickleson right clever.  😉

I love Poston's old school style putting stroke and stance.

I followed Poston's entire 2nd round on Friday, following his opening 62 the day before.  Figured I'd determine pretty quickly whether he was a "one-day wonder", or the real deal.  Second hole is a par-5, with water running down the left side from 100 yards out to greenside.  Hole is reachable for just about everyone as long as the ball is in the fairway.  Chad Ramey, in his group, was maybe 1 or 2 yards further away than Poston, and hit hybrid to center of green.  Poston hit a long iron directly at pin, tucked in the back left.  Received a lousy bounce off a mound, which shot the ball through the green to a tricky spot several paces off the back edge.  This left him with a delicate pitch-and-run back to the hole, which he handled deftly, leaving it inside of 2' for an easy birdie.  

 

Poston went on to birdie the next 3 holes in succession, and while things settled down a bit after that, it absolutely answered any questions I had about how capably he might hold that lead.  An extremely well-earned victory.  Was looking at his statistics on Sunday evening, and funnily enough, there literally is not a single performance category where he holds an "impressive-looking" ranking.  Not in driving, iron play, scrambling, or putting.  This should be the proof that there are intangible qualities at work not measureable by typical "money-ball style" number-crunching.

I will say one thing about the shotgun start on the other tour. The last hour of a PGA event is a dreadful watch. But solid win for Poston 

Now if I can get the 40 minutes of commercials time back that would be great
