You sound like one of the guys I was talking about around the time of the London event in that the PGAT and media has to be carful with bashing LIV. Too much and it'll be come like the movies or tv show that you're so tired of the hero that you start pulling for the bad guy

I think you don’t understand the team format. It’s 2 or 3 scores per team per day. Pat Perez was playing great and contributed big time for his team. Just had a bad day the final round. That’s the beauty of the format, when someone has a bad round at anytime, they can’t mail it in and go home. They’ve got to bring it the next day and give a crap.

 

the shotgun start allowed a more balanced crowd throughout the course and didn’t have all the mass panic of following one group. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Not too mention we didn’t have to be at the course for 12 hours, which was nice too. 

 

Sounds like you had a great time, I look forward to my first live liv event.   I thought the leaderboard was great especially when you compare it to what we have to watch today.

Watched the end of this event live and it was probably about as good as it gets for LIV. Great chip in by Grace and big putt on 18 by Ortiz. Wasn't sure how authentic the team celebration was but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt there. In the end it still isn't that compelling because there's really not that much at stake. But if they are able to get some actual healthy, in their prime type stars maybe that changes.

I thought the liv event was better than pgat this week. Not sure what that means really because the pga tournament was lacking in star power. 

 

I completely agree with the sentiment that media constantly bashing on LIV is making me root for liv and look at the pga like a bunch of whiners saying they care about "morals" or the "game of golf" but it's really just them trying to protect their monopoly/own pocketbooks. I still love the pga tour I just wish they'd ignore liv and stop talking about it.

This felt like a more serious event than their first. Having star power in contention helped, I think. The course also presented amazing, and the crowd was better. I found the team podium celebration a bit forced.

I'm sorry, I just like to watch golf, but love much more to play it. And I'm not interested in LIV golf.

 

Even with all the new ideas this organization has, buying a 'tour' with money and filling it with people based on reputation isn't really professional golf. Even in this thread the discussion is about the top players in the reputation and advertising worlds, not the final results of the tournament (except to take shots at those who had a bad week or should be on the Champions Tour).

 

One last point; how many of the top 25 KF Tour players will get invited to LIV next year? Zero.

How many of the top 25 PGA LatinAmerica tour players will get invited to the LIV next year? Zero.

How many of the top 25 Canadian Tour players, and the top player of every other so called lower-tier tours will get any interest from LIV? Zero. 

 

If you are buying players, new young talent doesn't make the cut because they do not draw attention to your events. Meaning players like Denny McCarthy or Christopher Gotterup, or even Emiliano Grillo won't get the time of day from LIV until the PGAT and all the other 'feeder' Tours make them visible to the advertisers and owners of the tour. Even then they won't get any up from guaranteed money until they get somebody's eye.  It's a prescription for disaster for the game.

 

If you like LIV golf, cool, watch it on your phone or PC. I'm not interested.

I understand it very well. The Four Aces won by a margin of 7 strokes. Perez contributed only on day one (3 strokes better than Gooch), he had the worst score of the "team" on day two and three. They would have won without him. He got 750 grand for being best friends with Dustin Johnson. Whaddaplaya!
