Kai-li white vs Ventus Blue

Wardman

Recommended Posts

Hello All -

Haven't pulled the trigger but looking for any comparison of these drafter shafts in the 60-70g range.  I really like the Kai-li in my 3 and 5 wood, and have not been getting along with the Ventus.  Anyone know the profile comparisons?  I know Ventus is mid launch vs low launch Kai'li.

Thanks!

The Ventus Blue is a much more mid soft type of shaft whereas the Kai'li White is more linear and mid stiff. Seems like you prefer the latter so it would make sense to put it in the driver as well.

Val — apologies if I missed this in a different thread, but how close is the Kai’Li white to tensei or tensei 1k?  So many different white profiles now its hard to keep up.

No worries! On paper the Kai'li White, Diamana PD, and Tensei 1k White are all in the same family being more linear, mid stuff designs. Lots of overlap for sure, with the Kai'li White TX being the stoutest and the 1k being the "smoothest".

Tensei 1K is smooth but also very linear with barely any kick to it.  Kai'li White has less feel IMO and feels a little stiffer overall IMO.  You could say a bit more anti-left.  You will see the very similar launch and spin with either shaft.

I felt as though the PD was the most stout of all the latest gen white board profiles.  The handle felt stiffer than the 1K or Kai'li White.  Comparable to the Ventus Black in TX.  The PD 70TX untipped I had was 282 CPM which is crazy stiff.

Ventus Blue is softer in the tip and mid section.  It's mid/mid-low.  Tested it for driver and had it in my 3 metal and it's easier to hook IMO.  If you like the Kai'li white in your fairways, I don't see why you wouldn't in driver.  Your other options to look at would be the Tensei 1K, Diamana PD or Ventus Black.  Just be aware that the 1K is softer in the handle whereas the PD and Ventus Black have stiffer handles which will make it feel different but produce the same launch and spin.

Thanks all!  I may be odering the Kai'li, and have been to Club Champion for the Ventus Blue.  I also have an EvenFlow black and TZ6 M4 in driver shaft that I could be putting in play (Callaway LS head).

Not trying to hijack, but curious how the Kai'li white and Diamana PD compare to the Tensei AV raw White X Flex.....The Tensei is a fairly soft X Flex IMO, but plenty stable. Handle is soft but the tip is stout

PD is linear in feel and has a stiffer handle.  You gotta be a manly man to handle it, lol.  Had the 70TX utipped last year which did cpm out to 282.  No kick and while I wouldn't call it rebar, it lacked smoothness that you would find in a typical white board profile.  I was mostly hitting low cuts with it unless I really went after it.  Kai'li white on the other hand is softer in the handle and easier to load and turn over.  Very linear like the PD but with much better feel/smoother.  I would say it sits right in between the Tensei 1K and PD.

Going to hijack here phizzy… I really like the Kaili in the stock (Stealth stock) 60s. You say the 1K is smoother than the Kaili?

Thanks for taking the time. How does the Tensei 1k white compare to the AV raw white? Does one play/feel stiffer than the other?

Are launch and spin similar?

We're talking small increments here but yes, the 1K feels a little smoother than the Kai'li to me.  Whereas the Kai'li only has the MR20, the 1K has the boron, Xlink and 1K weave which I believe makes it have more feel.

1K has more feel to it.  They are equally stiff IMO.  Launch and spin are similar but I found the AV Raw White to go left on me more than the 1K.  However, the comparisons aren't quite apples to apples so take this for what it's worth.  The 1K I have is in a my Stealth Plus head whereas the AV Raw White was tested twice.  Once in a fitting bay which had the Epic Speed Triple Diamond and the other time was a couple months ago with the Rogue ST Max LS.

Agree here. PD in X was too much shaft for me while VB 6x is almost perfect and tensei 60x was a hair soft feeling for me. Trying the TX this week. PD x and VB tx felt similar and very stout.
